New National Cyber Security Centre 14th February 2017 9:28 AM

As we all know a lot of large businesses and small have recently been the victims of online hackers. This causing huge sums of money spent on more secure forms of website security.

Online hackers won't stop, they hide behind a screen and are 'clever' in their ways of tapping in to some of the largest businesses in the world, we have recently seen the hacking of two large organisations; Sony and Yahoo. Alongside many more.

Today ITV news has announced that the Queen herself will be opening a new HQ Cyber Security centre to try and prevent hackers. Businesses are warned that they are not fully prepared for the rising threat of hackers and that this £1.9 billion investment will save businesses money in investing in expensive online security.

The centre is said to work with the industry to 'tighten security'. It is said that:

  • There have been 188 cyber attacks on businesses in the last three months.
  • 9/10 have said to lack in management plans of cyber security.

Not that I think the Queen will know much about online cyber security, but hey ho lets give her a chance....

Yeah i agree! I think that celebrities have the money to pay for their appearance however others do not, for example a hair advert that shows the celebrity with shiny and beautiful hair, its not realistic because it isn't the product that makes their hair look like that!!

Which one is most interesting to you? 9th February 2017 9:48 AM

A burst of completely different news all merged in to one....

1. Facebook has updated its ad policy.

Facebook has updated its ad policy. This is to try to reduce the discrimination that ads can cause. Facebook is for everyone therefore the ads should be even to the different catergories. This change should help offer equal opportunities to businesses that chose to advertise via the social media platform.

Great way to stop the potential favouritism if you ask me

2. Wikipedia bans 'Daily Mail' from posting via their website

Wikipedia the Internets biggest encyclopedia has banned sources from the 'Daily Mail' due to it being an 'Unreliable source' of information. This being because of its poor reputation of poor fact checking, sensationalism and flat out fabrication.

Looks like 'the sun' is not the only one Wikipedia has spat their dummy at....

3. Disney CEO is keeping on his job

The CEO Bob Iger is extending his term at Walt Disney. Many are not pleased with this decision due to the disappointing results in the companies quarterly earnings which were reported 7th Feb 2017. Revenues for the worldwide brand fells by more than 2% collecting $14.8bn rather than the predicted $15.3bn.

Poor Mickey can't take Minnie out for Valentines day now

4. Starbucks offer immigration advice

Due to Trump's order to ban all Syrian refugees from entering the US, the company have announced that they will begin to work with young people to provide guidance for their employees through offering free legal advice.

Does this mean the coffee is free as well

5. Chocolate Bars to shrink by 20%

Brands include Nestle and Mars have reported that they will reduce the size of their chocolate bars as the 'sugar war' hits. This due to government targets to improve the health of many in the UK. This particular move from the government could mean reducing the size of bigger brands such as Cadbury...

I think I'll just leave with that one as I'm feeling quite emotional with the last one

So which one do you find most interesting and why?

Addressing Parliament is a big NO NO... 7th February 2017 9:53 AM

After reading a really good article from the Independent, it has been brought to my attention that the members of parliament do not have that 'special relationship' with Donald Trump like our Prime minister Theresa May has seen to be recently.

Mr John Bercow has been supported by many politicians in his bid to 'ban' Mr Trump from addressing  parliament.  His reasons for wanting to 'ban' Trump from Parliament were due to his opposition to 'racism and sexism'.

I wonder how the Prime Minister feels about this? The politician and Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron speaks out in quite a vicious tone as to how much he cares about her opinion:

"The Prime Minister might wish to kowtow to the nasty misogynist that now sits in the Oval Office but no-one else does. We do not want him to speak to us. He is not welcome.”

Looks like Trump may not just be causing an uprising in the USA...
