EU Poll - media says 50/50, yet we show majority leave?

After watching the PM this evening on the BBC, I'm feeling more confident that we'll be leaving. Hopefully both the remain and leave campaigns will leave the recent murder of Jo Cox MP out of the debate as this was clearly criminal and just stick with the political argument.... But the way things are going, I believe next Monday, interest rates will rise, unemployment will rise, stock markets will crash, trading with the EU will come to a halt, house prices will crash, no more trade deals with the EU, a new budget with tax increases for everyone...... As Private Frazer would say..... We're all doomed!

Thanks,

Confess to thinking Gove put up a better performance than Cameron. He looked a little rattled at times yesterday. Fair play though, he is under some serious pressure. Think I would have just thrown a paddywhack and quit by now.

Still voting remain, still struggling to find anyone else who is, and looking forward to the actual vote now on Thursday. If we remain, good result for me. If we vote leave and it's a huge majority which reflects the MLS poll, then result and should get some marketing capital out of it.

From the numerous conversations I've had with business owners, family and friends, the leave vote seems to be in the bag, assuming everyone who said they will vote actually vote. If it goes the other way, it will be fascinating to find out and understand why.

Will be glad when it is all over to be honest, I'm not sure people are spending on high end goods at present with them nit knowing what is going to happen.... Traveling up the A1M this weekend I saw plenty of signs on bridges or on farmland saying vote leave....I didn't see any saying vote remain..... I'm confident we're going, but not overly as I think it can still go either way.... I think it all depends on how the youngsters value their right to vote... If they all come out and have their say we'll be staying.... If they all stay in bed stoned or drunk from the night before we'll be leaving.... At the end of the day it will effect them far greater than it will effect me....

Thanks,
Barney

I am still remain and cannot manage to side with Farage or Murdoch on anything I am afraid. Probably a stupid question but are the government actually obligated to follow the result or can they wriggle out of it somehow? How legally binding is it?

Not wanting to say whether it's a stupid question or not But it would certainly be a stupid Government that promised the electorate a referendum as part of it's general election manifesto and was voted in on the basis of that manifesto, then held the referendum and then stuck 2 fingers up at the electorate because they didn't like the result and carried on as normal disregarding the majority's wish. I have absolutely no doubt that there will be rioting on the streets and the Government would brought to it's knee's within 24- 48hrs and the PM would be looking for a country to exile to..... Simply because the UK is a democratic country and Parliament would have gone against the consent of the people..... To be quite honest on an issue such as this, it doesn't bare thinking about, because we would end up having complete anarchy on the streets...... in fact it would be this nations worst nightmare.....

As this is a serious British decision, I think it will come down to the weather. Currently its rain and thunder for Thursday, so that will keep the youngsters and the apathetic from the polling stations, which mean we will remain.

If it's sunny, we've had it and we'll leave...

It's not a fast process though, can see them dragging their heels in many ways....I agree that I can't see how they could ignore it though. I just saw someone using that as an argument. Haha.

I'm guessing that if we leave, it will take as many years to get out of the mess as it did to get in it..... I think many people, more so the leave campaigners think everything is going to change within 5 minutes of the vote being counted.... It wont, if the leave vote wins any changes will be gradual....

Whatever the result, tomorrow will be one of those points in time  which determines where the UK is heading and it's future. It will be an historical day whether we stay or leave and will be talked about and taught in schools for generations to come... I just hope people actually go out and vote tomorrow........

Well I watched the TV debate last night and fell asleep on the sofa half way through it. What a load of tosh.

Didn't rate the Trade Union woman for the Remain campaign. Boris was Boris, but rest of the panel were pretty good. As true blue, it's bizarre to be agreeing with the current London Labour Mayor versus the outgoing Tory one.

BBC seem to be going for a bit of a late minute pro push looking at the "More than 1,280 business leaders sign letter" headline on the website.

Whatever happens tomorrow, it has been quite surreal watching party colleagues turning on each and forging temporary alliances with traditional enemies.

Just need to wait for the next Scottish Referendum now

I didn't know there was a television debate last night....So spent the evening filling the skip on my drive, so as my neighbours love to share my skip although not contribute towards the cost of it... Don't you just love em? We had a mini debate in the street, 9 out of the 10 houses in the close, participated. No1 remained hidden indoors twitching his curtains wondering what was going on and did not take part..... No 2 African = leave, No 3 Jamaican = leave, No 4 African = leave, No 5 English = leave, No 6 Irish / English = leave, No 7 English = leave, No 8 Sri Lankan = leave, No 9 Bangladeshi = leave and No 10 English = leave....

Ok I had a hammer in one hand and a circular saw in the other as I was breaking up wooden pallets..... But I swear I never threatened any of them.... In actual fact it's a nice little close and we're all of the same age group and get on with each other....

Thanks,
Barney
