Thanks,
Barney

That's it as Kenneth Wolstenholme once said...... They think it's all over.... It is now!..... The majority of the United Kingdom has said leave....... Democracy at it's best....

Thanks,
Barney

And just to prove I'm not totally anti Europe.......I've just bought 3 tickets for tonight's Euro Millions....

Ahem... don't forget the £8483.00 for the poll idea...As agreed....

Thanks,
Barney

Oh my word, totally gutted!

Think it will be a longtime before we realise the impact. See Cameron has just quit, so que lots of turmoil as the Tories disintegrate.

So Cameron will step down in October, ready for bumbling Boris. Maybe we will see a Boris Trump world after all

Polling wise, interesting looking at how close it turned out. So it looks like the YouGov was spot on versus our 77%.

It was apparent the remain camp was losing the argument, or to be fair never really led it. So I wonder if it rallied more people to vote remain, as the voter turn out at 72% is pretty amazing. You would never see that for a general election.

Social media wise, looking at the comments, they were overwhelmingly pro leave, with little passion or rebuttal for the remain camp.

Exchange rate is currently $1.37 to the £1, thank god I went to America last month. Question now is how long it will take the markets to stabilise?

Resignation was inevitable, as for Scotland, that will fuel the fires and be an unnecessary distraction for the next few years, until they wear us all down and another referendum is granted, which they will win. Then we will see Nationalistic pressure increase on Northern Ireland politics.

Maybe Yorkshire and Cornwall will vote to detach as well and we'll end up as a bunch of principalities

Just watched the Bank of England Governor give his business as usual speech and reassurance everything will be alright after all, and no need to resort to haggling or converting to shekels.

Going to be an interesting but long winded process over the next 2 - 5 years, then after about 10 we can see if it was worth it.

Must admit this is a huge gamble and only time will tell if it was worth it. It will be interesting to see whether other nations like France, Italy, Denmark or Holland call for referendums. If they get it back to the original idea of a common market and leave it at that then fine, but anything else is totally unacceptable. Successive UK Governments got us into this mess over the last 40 odd years which has been to everyone's cost. Nigel Farage may go on about immigration, but this went far further than about that and I don't believe for one minute that over half the nation voted leave just about immigration.... Can honestly say it played absolutely no part in the way I voted. I voted solely because I believe in a sovereign nation and not a united states of Europe and in the UK I chose an MP to represent me in Parliament in Europe I have no say whatsoever.... which is totally unacceptable....

The markets will crash, but they will rise again at the end of the day the same people who crashed the markets in 2008 are doing it again today.... bankers...... I lost £3k playing the oil market the day before yesterday as speculation mounted, it happened in about 30 seconds.... 2 minutes later the market recovered.....  Yep I was gutted.....

Thanks,
Barney

Having the second largest economy leave the EU is going to hurt regardless what anyone says. Will be very interesting if it becomes a house of cards as remaining members will have to make up the shortfall of our contributions amid rumblings of discontent.

Why the powers at be just didn't stick with a simple straight forward common market rather then trying to be a wannabe USA of Europe  A strategy that has spectacularly backfired and eventually could bring down the Euro.

Would be nice to see all those farmers who've had to set aside land out in their tractors today working the land and the fishermen setting off to catch fish...... Might be a bit of a romantic view, but nonetheless it would be nice...

Thanks,
Barney
