I am responsible to organize this year's company anniversary. I thought of fancy finger food and maybe a small show act. Unfortunately, we don’t have a large hall, but a meadow on which we could all gather. But what if there’s bad weather? Is it worth it to rent a tent? And what type of music would be suited for such an event? Band or DJ? I’m happy with any suggestion.

Hello "cathead" welcome to the forum.

I'm genuienly intrigued as your IP shows you are located in Turkey?

So are you writing this on the beach having a well deserved early holiday, on your way to join ISIS, or is the party actually in Turkey? Who I'm sure have much nicer weather than what we do

If it's a decent size company, I'm sure they can afford a few quid to hire a hall. Our local village hall only costs £100 to hire, be a lot cheaper than hiring a marquee? Be much easier to arrange entertainment as well I would have thought?

You got me, I'm on my way to join ISIS, but first I wanted to finish my work tasks.

Or maybe I'm hiding my IP - who knows.

Yeah, it would be a lot easier if we hired a hall somewhere close. But my boss insists on having the party on our premises. His vision is something like this

I think I'm going to show him how much we could save if we could just go someplace else. Maybe that'll convince him.

thanks,

You sneaky beaky cathead!  We are so used to Indian IP addresses trying to pretend they are English, makes a change to be the other way round!

The canteen tent link certainly looks impressive, but it it'll cost a fortune, as well as the logistical hassle. But if that's what the boss wants...

You should be fine weather wise with that kind of marquee.

Entertainment wise, you cant beat a live band IMHO, but it's hard to cater for all tastes. We hired a band a few years ago and they were amazing, covering all genres, www.blozone.co.uk But there are millions of bands to choose from. Short list and go and see them play rather than gambling that they will be ok.

Gets you out of the office plus more fun than working for ISIS

Yep a live band is the best .. If you have the space a marquee is good .We had our reception in 1 and lets face it there is nothing to really damage in them now is there   .. You could also buy unbreakable beer tankards for the guys and goblets for the ladies ..

Seriously what ever you do hope it turns out a great night

Echo the band idea, love the idea of an outdoor venue. Let us know how you get on.
