Email marketing, who would you recommend?

I have recently fallen out with EKM response, their templates are clumsy and difficult to use and I don't think the returns are covering the costs incurred.

So, I want to spend between £35 & £100 per month on a simple news letter/discounted offers/promotions for my customers by email once per week. My website currently has 4000 customers.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mailchimp is free, easy to use, very feature-rich, and all you need is a new design for the template each month, so this is all you would pay for, apart from paying for someone to set it up for you, if you don't want to or can't do it yourself.

Hi Sharpink,

As you have a limited budget I would personally get a company to create some email templates for you that are tested across all platforms and devices. I had exactly this problem, I didn’t realise what a difference it makes until someone showed me one of my emails on their iPhone and to be honest I would have deleted it if I had received it, so definitely either find a template or two you can re-use that works for all or use a specialist who can help create what you are after, I used <Self Promo URL Removed> who I found were excellent, it may be an extra cost but as you pointed out it will be cheaper in the long run.

It is also worthwhile thinking about your subject title as generally speaking most mobile devices or mobile versions of the email accounts won’t display more than approximately 65 characters, so you message could get missed or cut short.

I started writing my subject tiles to include words like Amazing, Don’t Miss This, The 10 Best… which seems to have attracted more views and converters to the site as well.

Hi John

We don't like self promo, but if you are talking about a sister company, then at least declare it.

Otherwise welcome to the forum

Have also heard good things about Mail Chimp - have never used it though.

Hi there, no promo I'm afraid, look for my name I do not work for that company. But fair cop if that is what you think!

Regardless of who or whom, it will definately save you money in the longer term!

Sorry mate, just a born cynic that's doesn't believe in coincidence.

You were championing a company called Space and Time, and your forum email address is refreshed.direct@....

From your company blog:

Not a problem touting a sister company, was just giving you a chance to be up front and honest...

As for the OP, yep Mail Chimp is an ideal cost effective and simple solution.
