Is copying and pasting ethical?

Has anyone heard of DS Domination? It's an opportunity to drop ship products by buying at a low cost and selling them on eBay. However the company teach people to copy products that on sale on Amazon and paste on eBay, selling at a Mark up price, without the Amazon sellers knowledge. Plus when a customer buys the item on eBay at a higher price, the DS Rep will buy it at the lower price on Amazon and send direct to the customer, thereby deceiving the customer. Both Amazon and eBay are aware this sort of drop shipping goes on, but does it make it right? Any thoughts?

I've heard of DS Domination, mainly from the warrior forum, but have no personal experience of them.

But my own opinion is that it's yet another MLM scheme which targets a specific demographic. These schemes generate revenue (big revenue) for their owners by selling the dreams of instant riches by using the latest fool proof system.

In reality (or my understanding) the techniques they use are breaking Amazons and eBays TOS, so this is something that has a limited shelf life, or things could change very quickly. No doubt quite a few people are doing well out of it, but these normally bounce from scheme to scheme as the rules change or tighten up.

Overnight drop shipping and affiliate retailers are rife, although with recent Google changes, we are long past the peak in the curve. The most lucrative way to make easy money for the last few years is to tell other people how to make easy money

For every claim of "I made $10,000 dollars last month" I'd imagine there will be multitudes of disgruntled folk who have parted with cash and made nothing. The normal response from the owners of these schemes is you haven't worked hard enough or not taken it seriously.

There are plenty of good affiliate schemes out there, and there is nothing wrong with drop shipping. But you need to add value and market yourself, treating it as a proper business. Some of the Amazon sellers do spectacularly well, but it's all about finding the right niche, products and marketing.

Schemes that rely on cheap tricks and deception normally only line the pockets of the founders imho. Now send me $10 and I'll tell you how you can get rich...

Thanks Steve,

sadky seeing so many people join DS. What concerned me was the deception. A friend sells products on Amazon, was recently shocked to see someone from DS had copied and pasted his products, put them on eBay and selling at a marked up price! He was not too happy!

I think you are right someone is making a lot of money promoting this opportunity.

I'm surprised Amazon hasn't done something about this already. The more amazon sellers that complain, then no doubt things will start to change

Also, more importantly, maybe he is selling them too cheaply if people are prepared to pay more on ebay!

My views & opinions are my own

You maybe right Higgers. Of course some sellers are selling their goods on eBay as well as Amazon. Would be better if the DS person contacted the seller and asked if they could sell their product for them and earn a commission. That would make it more ethical.

Talking away the MLM aspect - not sure if i'm being slow but whats the harm in buying a product & then selling it on for a profit?

Lets just say i buy 100 cards off abfabcards for eg £100, then off load them on Amazon for £150 - if people are prepared to pay my asking price - is there really any harm?

Absolutely no problem with what you say Clive because you will have ownership of the product,  the issue with DS is that the person selling the product on eBay does not own the product and I would suggest in most cases the Amazon seller is unaware their product is being sold by someone else on eBay.
