I had a pitch fall flat recently. My content was good, as it had worked before, but I just didn't seem to get any traction with the potential client team. Just read a new book called OWN THE ROOM on biz presentations. What I liked was that it was NOT about Powerpoint tips. Instead, it's about how to max out your pitch communication skills.

I just tested one trick...I opened a pitch with a client anecdote, using the Problem/Solution/Results formula from the book. Worked like a charm! Got the biz. Wow...same info I've done for 20 years, just a little different structure!

Hi BJ Welcome aboard to the USABF!

Just goes to show, when it comes to pitching, your never to experianced to learn!!

Must admit, pitching was never my great area, coming from a technical background, I tend to go into to much detail and can see peoples eyes glaze over

So what line of business are you in, or are you just promoting the book?

Before I ever went into design, to enjoy my job, I was in sales and very good too, set up 2 telesales outfits myself and headhunted to 02, but anyway, I digress, I went to DFS (UK) with the solereason of stealing their training package, I spent 3 months with them, 4 weeks of which are actual trining weeks at their head office, and I thought I could sell before I went there!

Structure is the key, we all know how to do our jobs, but with a tweak here and there the job turns into enjoyment and higher profits!

Viva La Structure!
