Was reading this story about a man who brandished an air rifle at Police, who initially ordered him to drop his weapon so they shot him in the stomach with a baton round. This failed and he raised his rifle again to Police who then shot him in the leg with a live round shattering his thigh bone

The chap then complained about the Police shooting him

Think its fairly straight forward to be honest, raise a weapon of any kind, but especially a rifle, albeit an air rifle, then i think you can safely assume you will be shot, especially if a warning round has already been fired!

What planet are these people on?

I clicked the link to this article and got as far as the picture.

Sorry, it may be wrong, but I didn't need to read any more. I drew my own conclusions in about 2 microseconds

Maybe the Police have changed their policy on firearms. I always thought if they came across someone with a firearm who was threatening either them or the public they shoot to kill not wound. When in the forces doing weapons training we were taught to kill rather than wound as a wounded man is a dangerous man who can still take you out.... Thankfully I never had to do either

Thanks,
Barney

Guessing Barney they must have realised it was an air rifle, still could do some damage with it though.

Still can't believe he feels hard done by for getting shot!
