Pyjamas in a supermarket

No, not the next Hollywood blockbuster but the growing trend to shop in sleepwear.

A man recently posted online a photo he took in Tesco Salford of two female customers shopping in their nightwear at 7pm and a mini-rant about it.  He got a lot of support but is now being criticised for taking the photo and his attitude towards "casual dress".   The one point he made was are we so busy that we can no longer take a few minutes to change into something more suitable.

Not the first time this subject has been raised and I remember another Tesco branch banning customers from wearing pyjamas.  I've only seen this once in my local Co-op convenience store, but at least she had a coat on.   What do you think?  Is it acceptable to wear pyjamas or a onesie to the shops?

I don't think its acceptable to a certain extent, I think if its early and the supermarket is dead then there isn't any harm to it really. I sometimes go down to the corner shop on my road in my pj's if its late at night and I fancy some chocolate

Although that hasn't happened recently because chocolate is a no go in January

There is the argument however that this is not setting a good example to younger children who's parents may have to force them to have a wash and get changed  I think that if they want to wear pyjamas  to the supermarket at least wear a coat or something to hide it rather than wearing a dressing gown because it just looks ridiculous.

I love my pyjamas, but there are boundaries

Must admit to not spotting anyone shopping in PJ's, but it does make me smile when you see overly large folk (and that's coming form a chunky monkey) waddling around in trainers and tracksuits. Presumably because they can only wear clothes that expand with elastic.

I'm sure it wasn't the target market sports direct were looking at, or maybe it was

Apparently one of the "guilty" is now claiming that anyone criticising her is being racist.  As the photo was taken from behind, it's difficult to tell but methinks she's got the wrong "ist".

As for the lycra/tracksuit wearers, if you think it's bad enough seeing them in this country then witness them abroad in tops and cropped leggings.  Now that is a sight to behold......

If ever challenged, you could just say you accidentally sleepwalked into the supermarket, and thought "oh, well, might as well do the shopping, now that I'm here!".  : - )

Might try this one myself

I'm told the first idea is usually better than the second, but:

You could also say that you were in the middle of a pyjama party, and realised you needed some stuff ????
