Accenture is dropping the bell curve annual appraisals joining Deloitte, Adobe, KPMG, Microsoft and no doubt others.

Having previously worked for big companies I've never seen much point in them, as it never seems to represent reality!   It's always seemed to be more of a box ticking exercise, and how your perceived at any one time is the result you'll get despite the evidence to the contrary.

I've always assumed it'd work better in small companies but I don't actually know whether it does?

In my experience having been on all parts of the bell curve - I have to say it's a good thing to get rid of it, but the main concern is what  is going to replace it, surely big companies will still need to ensure managment have ticked boxes!?!

Now working for yourself, it's far easier to give yourself a kicking or a good slap on the back!

....Plan B sorted, back up ferry ticket booked. Plan C is to commandeer a fishing boat and go in D-Day style, then come back as a refugee....”

Excellent!    Could Greece look like an attractive proposition?

Good luck, let us know how you get on

I think I'll be waiting a while and let the revised version get rolled out, called 10.1

Ditto!   I did the same for Windows 8 and I'm on.....    .....Windows 7!  Yes still.   That sums up Windows 8 for you!!

I had the same messsage as Rebecca, except...

....so investiagted further,

This in itself doesn't concern me really.  I just can't believe the "app developers" haven't made it compatible with Windows 10 when it's a Microsoft product.     Well actually I can!

Support the British tourist industry instead..... Some of the best summer holidays I had as a child was finding a deserted beach in Cornwall, Ok it was a bit of a trek to get to them, but no one ever bothered us, made camp fires out of drift wood, went rock pool fishing, beach volley ball.... To be honest some of the best holidays I ever had. When I go away I go as far away as possible to where all the other Brits go.....

...but don't go tweeting to No.10,   otherwise it will never be the same!

Do you have a Will? 28th July 2015 12:19 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the same!  When I read about all the previous appeals it almost seemed to depend on what the judge "personally thought" (though obviously I haven't got the finer details) and I totally agree with you.

Now worryingly, a precendent has been set.  Lawyers will be rubbing their hands with glee.

....Signing up to the Telephone Preference Service can also help reduce these calls.”

Well in that case, I dread to think how many calls I'd get if I weren't - seems bad enough already, though admittedly half the problem is that they don't cover overseas calls.......

Facebook needs a proofreader? 27th July 2015 12:54 PM

That is shocking!

Well, would you believe it, they've finally made a $92m profit.   So maybe the investors will be happy now.

Do you give blood? 23rd July 2015 6:33 PM

Certainly do.  . Like the article, I'm sure there are other countries that offer more than just biscuits & crisps, though I do enjoy them!

MRB's very kindly found me someone who'll be the ideal replacement! Am really grateful

Excellent, I'm glad it has worked out for both you.  .  All the best with your retirement!
