Anyone coming here to work or live should be able to converse and communicate in English and have a general understanding of our laws and customs. No speaky the lingo, no passport or work visa.

Conversely the same should be said for any Brits immigrating or working abroad. This includes the expat enclaves where Brits huddle together in little communities and speak little or no local language. I've no doubt this winds up locals in the host nation in exactly the same way it winds us up in the UK.

So if you already have a data controller number and nominated bod, then all is OK? Or is there anything above and beyond the normal data protection  requirements we need to implement?

I'm always more cynical of these stories, they are good headline grabbers.

A CEO who is accountable to shareholders and responsible for keeping  a business profitable and jobs secure deserves decent compensation for their leadership and the amount of stress and responsibility they have to deal with. Unfortunately some high profile cases of bosses reaping rewards when things aren't going well, or getting sacked with obscene pay off's doesn't help the cause.

Well 2016 seemed to be a bumper year for expiring celebs, finishing off (excuse the pun) tragically with George Michael, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

Theories abound to the reasons why, post war baby boomers, more exposure due to modern media and technology and a 24 hour news culture.

But the question is, how many of our heroes and stars will we lose in 2017... 

Yup think we covered poor old Caroline. Well my Queen prediction didn't come about 

Right shall close this as it's gone a bit long and start a new one for 2017, assuming there are some celebs left

Nope, not come across Hiri. Just gone to the site and looks interesting. I like the idea of an email replacement, or a means to remove the need to waste so much time checking email, but it's versus the time to install, set up and get the team used to a new way of working when everyone is already running round like a headless chicken

So a night of drunken debauchery and partying hard until 05.00? Nope, 2 glasses of wine, whiskey toaster and a night of James Bond followed by Jools Holland. Living life on the edge...  

I know Rachael was heading for Manchester in full party mode, anyone else see the New Year in style? Or like me have you exchanged your party shoes for slippers

Email newsletters and promotions are the curse of everyone's inbox, even though we are guilty of sending them out ourselves 

But as legally required, all newsletters and promos must have an unsubscribe button. This then gives you the opportunity to easily and quickly remove you from a mailing list if you decide it's not for you. The idea being I never hear from you again. 

But someone we recently bought something off and then bombarded us with emails ever since has a different approach.

Then people wonder why they get sarcastic comments on social media outlets and reviews... Just go away...
