I think I flew with them years ago to Turkey. I agree that planning your own agenda is way better though. I didn't know any better in my twenties though.

I've never taken my kids abroad so not had that experience, holidaying in this country is bad enough.

Welcome to the forum. What's the main difference? I studied with the OU for many years. I enjoyed distance learning as I'm quite self motivated and loved working through the books provided, by myself, when I chose. However, latterly, when it went to online only, learning with text books only being available online, I found this far less engaging and far more laborious! 

So in the sad aftermath of the latest mass shooting in America, it is time to discuss gun control again. I am very anti guns, as is to be expected from the resident leftie I suppose  I am so glad it is something we mostly seem to get right in this country. Armed police are not everyday sights in most places (although this is more common than it was) and you don't have every man and his dog having the right to own a firearm. It is one of the reasons I have never wanted to live in America, guns are so prevalent, they are accidents waiting to happen let alone if someone loses it or has a bad day and decides to take out their coworkers on their way out. It's terrifying.

I was interested to read about the Australian gun control and how strict it became and how they changed their laws after their last mass shooting in 1996 and they've not had one since.  https://thinkprogress.org/australia-reacts-las-vegas-shooting-1110c7cf0af2/ This recent article asks why America hasn't acted to prevent these horrible incidents. 

Do you think that America should change the constitution? As their right to bear arms seems to me to be an outdated and frankly dangerous idea. It will certainly never happen with Trump in charge!

Hmmm I have no need for this service myself so I am not much help but in theory I think I would like to know how my IT was being disposed of, is it environmentally friendly, responsible and what guarantees are there that is correctly destroyed and the data can't be stolen.

Yikes! Rushing for flights is stressful, I'm glad you made it through, doesn't take much to raise suspicion these days. 

Ryan air are the pits, in my experience. 

I see that Monarch is the latest victim of the budget airlines to go bust. I always feel so sorry for people who have holidays booked if this sort of thing happens. To be honest if you're actually on holiday and you can stay in your apartment or hotel room longer for free then happy days, the reality is probably sitting in an airport for hours or days though!

They have stated that the terror attacks in Tunisia and Egypt and the weak pound are to blame, so I assume we can blame Brexit for this debacle.   £291 million is quite a loss though, that was last year. I do feel for the 2,100 people now out of work, it certainly isn't their fault. I am sure staff of other budget airlines must be sleeping a little less soundly tonight.

I thought I'd reply to this old topic because I met the head of McDonald's in my area the other night and heard him speak and he was not what I expected at all. John Kiely was very inspirational and does a huge amount of work with the homeless and vulnerable in Coventry as well as supporting sport for children.

I have to say I was surprised by how charismatic and benevolent he was, not how I view McDonald's as a company. 

They're also starting deliveries in the city centre....a slippery slope for some. I tend to love McDonald's for their soft play as it entertains the kids, so I'm not fussed about delivery, although with a hangover I can see the appeal!

So how was it? Worthwhile? The couple of business conference/exhibitions I've been to have been great for free pens but I've not found any new clients at them.
