Did anyone see the news, a runner in Leeds collided with the Prime Minister in the City centre. At one point whilst the police/body guards were grabbing the runner, the Prime Minister was on his own. My goodness what it that had been an attack and there had been two of them!
Seems this was an innocent jogger running to the gym. It does hi-light the inadequacies of the security of our Prime Minister although you do have to balance the cost of such protection versus the actual risk. If the PM is surrounded by 15 close protection officers you can bet next week wages someone will bitch about the cost of those said officers. An argument will erupt either way im afraid Clive
I wouldn't want to see American Presidential style security with loads of ear piece toting dark glasses wearing gorillas. Our understated approach keeps us all British. Plus looking at it, there didn't seem to be any real risk, although no doubt they've all been fired and if you pop over to the tower you might see their heads on spikes |
