Not had a full on rant for a while, thought it was too good to be true to continue.

Parked up my car this morning, only to discover some mindless cretin has gouged 2 lovely lines down the offside of my car - why?

Can understand most crimes although i dont condone them, but mindless vandalism, just pis**s me off.

Seems i have attracted an enemy around my area - no idea what i've done, or is it just i have a nice car and they dont?

Do i get it fixed, only for them to do it again, or do i drive round with 2 huge scars down the side of the car?

Arrrrrgh - what a way to end the week

Red mist descended before i thought about adding flogging, stocks & public humiliation.

Is it just a thirst for revenge, too damn right on this - its my property what right does someone have to damage it?

Right i need a coffee before i ramble on ..............

I think you summed it up in the title. Mindless Vandalism.

You've got a nice car, which you've worked hard for, and someone else is jealous of. So they think it's ok to gauge big scrapes down the side.

I would chop their fingers off it was left to me...

So we now have both a hangman and axeman hmmm

Having calmed down a touch from earlier, rang and reported it to the Police, not much really they can do, but at least its on record.

They suggested i put up CCTV, i'm doing battle with my Council over whether i need planning permission to erect a fence on my "drive" and if i also need permission to drive over their pathway to gain access to my property - all a bit deep and long winded but its not as straight forward as driving from road to drive. - dont know if this image helps, thats my old MG on my property

Anyway question is, does anyone else have CCTV monitoring - anyone recommend a brand or type ?

Clive

Bad news. Problem with cctv is people think there must be something worth nicking

Shakester

Can't you get a camera to put in your car? I agree with Shakey, cctv means I've got something to nick.

Did think about a camera in the car- thought CCTV was a better idea as it would act as a deterrent.

In talks now as to whether i can rent a garage - problem is its a wide car and i'm not convinced i will be able to get it in, well i probably could but then i'm stuck in the car !

Clive

If you've got a big boot that's always a good escape route...had to use it myself a few times when the car doors have stuck in winter, not very elegant but needs must!

Its a saloon but the seats do drop - its ok for a couple of days, not really a long term solution though

Going with plan A now and extending my fence line along my drive and will put up security lights, still pondering CCTV
