Hi all

I'm also a MFF user of long standing.

Got to say one thing for IE8 though.

The advert on TV at the moment.

For the "private" web browsing. Affectionately known as "p0rn mode".

They've suggested in the ad that this is a feature gentlemen can use while browsing to buy shiny jewellery for their beloved wives, and it's Not Suspicious At All Honest.

Nearly wet myself laughing at that. Himself came out with the comment "it probably took them an afternoon to program it, and then a month to come up with a legitimate reason why people would want it...

Regarding the "p0rn mode" in IE8. While it's true that your visits to websites are not saved or trackable, that doesn't include any lingks from the visited pages.

I recently did an investigation and it was discovered that IE8 was operating in "stealth" mode. The report on this activity runs to aroung 5000 (yes five thousand) pages with 3 records per page. All done in company time.

Like the line in Hotel California by the Eagles - "You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave".

Was that for an office of PC's? Surely not a single machine

Hi Steve

No that was 1 user on a laptop over a period of 2 weeks. Also add to the list various other "cover your tracks" applications, Three or four different types of encryption and anti keylogger apps. And a couple of virtual machines running under different user accounts.

The thoughts were that this user is a fully signed up member of the "Just 'cos your're not paraniod, doesn't mean they're not out to get you club".

Regards

Dave
