Using incentives to make the team work 13th November 2014 11:28 AM

I was always doing battle with my former employer over what i perceived to be lazy employees, but on reflection i guess they were always aware of it.

They swanned in at 9am, i was always in at 8.30, then they talked for 20 mins about last nights Eastenders ( i bloody hate that programme!), then the conversation usually turned to what they had to eat for tea, meanwhile i'm taking all the calls !!!!!

I had a regular pay upgrade and even got overtime for being the office "tape monkey" for our system upgrades.

The chatty employees got a small payrise each year inline with inflation - my point is, my incentive was to work hard, keep my head down when all around where chatting and that was seen by the boss and each year i was rewarded with an over inflation payrise. As part of that i was the one taken out by reps for lunches (working of course) but that was my natural work ethic, so in that case incentives were not necessary.

We have spoken many times about the rights/wrong of debt & the companies associated with it.

In reality the very people that use these kind of services are vulnerable and can ill afford the interest repayment.

Is it wrong for a business to make profit from these people? In that case do you ban Tescos and the likes adding such high mark up on some of their produce?

Hamilton win - was it manufactured? 11th November 2014 10:39 AM

I think Hamilton has it in the bag as long as he plays conservative which isnt in his nature so could be interesting.

He just has to cruise around behind Rosberg ...... time will tell

IMHO - no - ive always been a team player and given my all to nearly all of my former employers.

Giving me a pen, special note in the company website never really floated my boat. I won a few and was given even more jolly days out driving & clay pigeon shooting etc but i can't in all honesty say it made me work any harder.

Is copying and pasting ethical? 7th November 2014 11:06 AM

Talking away the MLM aspect - not sure if i'm being slow but whats the harm in buying a product & then selling it on for a profit?

Lets just say i buy 100 cards off abfabcards for eg £100, then off load them on Amazon for £150 - if people are prepared to pay my asking price - is there really any harm?

Yep - price decrease would be helpful - lets remember that although they massively overestimate their profits they still made a huge profit out of those of you that shop there!

never even heard of lenovo?”

Nope nor me, but i am assured that its a decent machine.

I believe that they used to be IBM machines but they sold off this part of the business some years back.

Anyway its too late - my new lenovo machine is on its way, with Windows 8, so no doubt it will take me the next 3 years to get used to it - will report back once its here and set up !
