Not noticed any mention of it this year. I know there was a big fuss about it last year. Supposed to be the hallowed day of peak trading for online retailers.

Had a 1 day only offer from Apple in my inbox, but that's about it.

Anyone doing any Blackfriday specials, or is this mainly a USA thing?

Well, I am over here in the US and it is a huge deal here. Many stores opened at 6pm last night and have had shoppers and long lines ever since. My Facebook feed is filled with pictures of "friends" who have apparently lost their minds and gone searching for great deals.

The last time I did it was two years ago and it was so bad I swore never again. I would rather pay more than risk life and limb for a little saving. The only reason I did it last time was because my daughter wanted a bike for Christmas. They were regularly $125 at Walmart and for Black Friday it was $30. We got one, but it was a task and people were fighting everywhere!

I look at it like this, Christmas day is my normal hourly rate so every day other than this particular day then customers are already getting a great deal, so I see no need for further reductions....

Thanks,
Barney

Blimey, sounds like the New Year sales of old, which now seem to start Mid December!

Your telling me you wouldn't add anything on as I called you away from Barney Mansions on xmas day to fix my leaking Kazi! Now I know you're telling porkies

Looks like I got the Black Friday bit wrong, so that's for physical retailers, and cyber Monday is for online:

BBC News - Cyber Monday: 'Busiest online shopping day' expected

Maybe we could have a directory Tuesday and a plumbing Wednesday?
