Its a real concern. The way I see it, people have gotten too comfortable with the low interest rates, (I'm probably just as guilty) As soon as interest rates go up, and they will, a lot of people will be in trouble and I would imagine another perhaps deeper recession. As far as house prices goes, its normal for house prices to go upward. Let hope my area rockets, and I will sell up and move to warmer climates!! SKETCH3D
I'll have you know I live in Dagenham, not much going for it now that Ford has all but disappeared, plenty of Western Union money transfer shops, pawn shops, pizza shops, Indian and Chinese takeaways, the largest clothes shop is George @ Asda in fact I think its the only one  Tesco's has a new distribution center up the road and employ plenty of cheap rate migrant workers, having just laid off all the workers at the Harlow distribution center. There are talks about having a new top of the range prison built, which many locals are up in arms about, probably because when they 'go away' they prefer to go further afieldTo be honest, it doesn't have a lot going for it apart from being 16 miles from Central London or rather 2hrs travelling on a good day... The land in Dagenham is far to valuable to be restricted in value for too long. Give it time, with the right encouragement for investment and it will spring up in value, prison or otherwise simply due to its proximity to the city of London. From what I have seen, new prison designs are actually not too bad from the outside. Never been in one to know what the residence have to live with. SKETCH3D
