Many believed that, but for the case to go to court, there had to be some merit in what was said about the two. From the Galaxy products I've seen on TV, there are some striking resemblances in bot the phones and tablets.

That being said though, there are a lot of other phones that look similar, look at the Xperia for instance, Apple hasn't gone after them yet. I guess it will all depend on Steve's successor in the end, as to what happens from here.

Yea there are quite a few that look similar but that is the same in other industries. If they were trying to make almost exact replicas in regards to design then it might be understandable but most smartphones are a form factor as are flat screen TVs. Patents I wouldn't know enough about to comment but I do think there are just soo many of these law cases going on that its becoming a bit out of hand.
