The myth that Macs can't be hacked is just not true.

probability to get a virus on Mac is low enough to forget about them.
and we as marketers need to understand that this is not a good practice to believe the bad news about viruses on sites of antivirus vendors.

Good job we've got Google Translator, that page was in Russian, apparently it's a Chicken pie recipe

Mac's do seem pretty bomb proof, and some common sense seems to take care of 99% of issues.

Most of the threats come from plug-ins and add-ons, like for browsers, which are usually distributed outside official app stores, says Jamz Yaneza, a threat research manager at Trend Micro.

"If its not in the Mac App or App stores, just don't download it."

DON'T DO IT STEVE! I tried to get to grips with the Mac I inherited, it is SO,SO different from a PC and the effort was never worthwhile.

I've always hated any technological innovation demanding a rethink of my previous ways of working so I was surprised how relatively quickly I became comfortable using Windows 7. Anyone less like a Luddite than me (you, for example) would sail through the whole process.

If anyone wants an unloved 2006 Mac with lots of software please let me know!

You could have tried changing the language by clicking the change language button (top right).

Edit:
Removed rant. Thread has digressed enough. It's enough to say that 99.9% of mac user's have no idea about security.

Security vendor Sophos has discovered that one in five Mac computers surveyed carry malware that could infect Windows PCs. In a bit of delicious irony, only one in 36 Apple computers were found to be infected with Mac OS X malware. The results bring an odd sense of urgency to worries about Mac security.

I have had a mac for 7 years now and have NEVER had a virus - I would 100% recommend if you are in a creative industry and you can import microsoft office software.

Personally use both Mac and PC. Not a expert on this but do think Macs get viruses but it must be on a small scale that doesn't really get reported that much. I don't get normally viruses on my personally PC mainly because I try to take the necessary precautions.

Know of a number of Mac users who do not use antivirus because they feel they don't need to because they are using a Mac, personally not experience any virus problems at all on a Mac but chose to use antivirus on it.
