BBC News - Apple 'visionary' Steve Jobs dies aged 56

His innovative ideas have raised the bar for technology, such a sad loss.

Blimey, he was obviously more seriously ill than expected when he stepped down.

Indeed what a sad loss. A true trail blazer, innovative and a market creator. But what an amazing legacy he has left behind, he certainly won't be forgotten for a long long time.

In the spirit if the film "i robot" a part of him will always live on to inspire people from within the technology he has created.

RIP Steve. There wouldn't be an apple without you

very sad news indeed. I wasn't aware of his involvement in Pixar until yesterday..

Naturally I agree with all that's been said.

He'll be remembered for many things but one of them I've only discovered the other day was that we can be thankful to him for having the options of all the great fonts.

Many of you by now may have seen his Stanford address in 2005 (or read the transcript) where it details how it all came about!

It's a sad time for apple and Steve's family. I know that, before he left, he hand picked his successor. I just wonder if he has an idea of how hard its going to be to fill Steve's shoes. He did a lot for not only apple, but technology as a whole, and if it wasn't for his genius, we wouldn't have half the gorgeous tech we have today, if at all.

Thanks,

A sad loss for sure, his family must be distraught.
There's a big space to fill now, I'm sure there are people out there who hold the same outlook, passion and hope as Steve Jobs did

I'll keep hold of my iPhone 4, who knows maybe it'll be worth something on the antiques roadshow in a few years

I had not seen it mrb. thanks for posting the link - After reading that I think his life would be quite a breathtaking experience for us mere mortals, quite admiral to have such out of this world success from what seemed to be an adverse beggining. (you can bet that it will be a record breaking year for students enrolling to college in the US)
