Met my brother for the first time in 36 years yesterday.... he’s never done a days work in his life... though he is very academic and has certificates and qualifications hanging floor to ceiling in his house, none of these pieces of paper were ever put to any use..... he had 3 daughters 2 are now consultants in London hospitals and the third is a GP... I came away thinking that although I’ve paid tax all my working life...... he’s probably contributed more to the country than I ever will... weird
Thanks, Barney
Wow! Was it exciting to meet him? Arguably he may not have done paid work but studying and learning is no walk in the park. I hope my children have successful careers, if that's what they choose. And fair play to anyone choosing to be a GP in this day and age. Thanks, Rebecca CV and blog writer Pay for Precision | Saving you time by writing you kick-ass blogs and CVs.
Cannot really say it was exciting, it was more surreal than anything else... even when I met him 36 years ago, that was the first time I had met him..... Our family was totally dysfunctional, full of lies and deceit..... Jeremy Kyle would be proud of this family.... unfortunately he’s always suffered with schizophrenia... To be honest I felt a bit sad about him, he’s a heavy smoker and every single room is thick with yellow... the bath is full of books as well as every room.... he’s apparently on his final warning from the housing association for hoarding a fire hazard..... there’s no where to sit because of the books..... he has no bed, but sleeps on the floor because he believes if he’s in a bed rats will get him..... And we’re having a normal conversation talking about this and that....... And within a blink of an eye.... he returned to his stamp collections... and the visit was over... 4 hour round trip and spent 20 minutes with him... Thanks, Barney

Wow that sounds quite difficult to deal with! Never failed to be surprised by your posts Barney. It must be strange to have a brother and be so different and to barely know him. I am quite close to my brother. Families can be very odd though, you can't choose them! Thanks, Rebecca CV and blog writer Pay for Precision | Saving you time by writing you kick-ass blogs and CVs. |
