We are very pleased by the service provided by South West Surveyor's for a level 2 survey on our new house in Bristol, which we booked through Domestic Surveys. Lee did a very thorough job looking over the property and providing us comprehensive information about the condition of the house, including lots of photos, and Martin of Domestic Surveys did a great job organizing the survey and responding promptly and efficiently to all our emails. We were purchasing a 1980s build house as a downsize and had Lee perform a level 3 survey for us. We were somewhat suspicious about why a previous buyer walked away so wanted a proper job done. And Lee really delivered. I come from a family who work in construction and although I do not do this myself am pretty knowledgable in some areas. I thought the over 80 page report was clear (it had one small minor mistake but none of us are perfect!) and it very much helped our decision to proceed and also helped us negiotiate the price down a few thousand. Also I feel I know everything there is to know about the house I will live in for the forseeable future. I heartily recommend Lee to you.

Martin was very professional in his interactions with us and was also very quick to reply to queries we had. This ensured we were in the loop at all stages of the planning process. The survey was performed by Lee who produced a comprehensive report that was easy for us to understand. He also took the time out of business hours to talk us through the key findings. Had a good experience, Lee did a level 3 survey for us recently and it was very thorough and the report was clear to understand. There was a follow up meeting after for me to ask any questions, although thankfully the house was in good condition so I didn't need to ask much. But I appreciate that the meeting is an option as these things can be very overwhelming.

Would definitely recommend.

Lee Preston with Domestic Surveys did a fantastic and thorough job of our survey. The report was sent to us within 48 hours of the survey being done, with a follow up zoom call to discuss it in detail and answer any questions the following week. Lee was great at explaining everything to us and advising what would need to be done to the property, and was happy to do follow up emails with any questions we had. Would highly recommend Domestic Surveys to anyone buying a property for the first time, and feeling like they may need extra support with a through survey to make the purchase as stress free as possible.

I have found these surveyors to be the some of the most helpful people during my purchasing experience. Lee and Martin have given me a lot of valuable advice and I have often turned to them with questions when I have not been sure who to ask. The follow-up call to talk through the report was really valuable as well, giving us a sanity check where we needed it, and really great advice on next steps for works, where we may be able to renegotiate on price, as well as some helpful costings for the suggested works.

Straightforward and friendly to deal with. Open and honest. Explained in detail what I would get from the report and what I would or would not be able to infer from it, so I knew exactly what I was buying. The report itself is extensive and clear, with plenty of contextual illustrations and supporting photos to illustrate specific points of concern. The follow-up meeting with the surveyor to go through the report in detail was included in the cost, which I appreciated. Would recommend without hesitation.

I am very happy with the service provided. They communicated clearly and timely, the report was comprehensive (went for RICS level 3 building survey), Lee went through the report with me via a Zoom call and explained all the details, clarifying everything I didn’t understand. This gave me confidence in my purchase and knew what potential follow up costs I might have. Definitely recommend!
