What's in a name... change... 12th June 2015 12:00 PM
This just gets me really angry and i have no idea why its legal

I get that sometimes things go wrong and companies go bust, but you should not be able to escape from your debt by transferring the "goodwill" of a company to another trading name or hide behind your spouse.

Time for this archaic and immoral practice loop hole to be closed.”

Don't think anybody can argue with that - seems sensible but yet it happens.  Why / how!??

looks like a more localized version of facebook.”

It is because you can't seem to go beyond your own geographic area.

Bagpuss, tom & jerry, Trumpton and the wacky races

The original Thunderbirds, although i think it was on repeats even for my age band - plus Joe 90 !

Oh nostalgia - seems like only last week i was sat at home watching all of those......”

Tom and Jerry - yay, now that was quality.

I also used to watch the black and white Laurel and Hardy...  ...must have been repeats!!

This is interesting as I read somewhere that blogs are the thing to have on your website (or perhaps I was told by someone who writes blogs!) and I was panicking about having to include one on mine......."

Perhaps they meant from a keyword perspective that could help rank the page in search engines.

However, any blog that isn't consistently updated whether that be once a day, week or month can make a business look "closed" - so if you do decide to do it you need to be disciplined!

Just tell them it's Linux not Windows and the line will either go dead or they'll sound astonished that you don't have a Windows PC and seek clarification and then the line will go dead .

They're not the politest people on the planet

I was surprised to get a letter in the post the other week advertising about a new Community website, streetlife.com "inviting" me to join...   (yes in the post!)

...having looked into it further,  it seem to have been around for a few years.  I've logged on and I can see the potential but I don't find it that easy to navigate, but there does seem to be a fair few people posting and communicating, so it may succeed?   Or maybe it already has looking at the number of people on it.

Curious to know if anybody else has any experience of it and if they too had an old fashioned snail mail postal "Invite to join"!

Good question but ultimately, it'll be with few less clicks, and interestingly it's only going to be on mobile devices/tablets.  Clearly Google believe mobile is the way forward, and also interesting that a lot of people are now using the search more to find things locally.

There is going to be a need to have mobile/responsive sites, as the article states...

Customers expect to be able to transact swiftly and safely from mobile devices and any company that hasn't done so will be swiftly outmanoeuvred by more nimble competitors.

It's been mooted for a while now, but it seems that a Buy Now button is going to start appearing on Google search results soon - BBC News.

It'll be interesting to see if this takes revenue from Amazon etc. or whether it will help them? Though I suspect you'll be able to pay to have your own buy now button up at the top of the search results so adding to the Google revenue earning machine

I've used them loads over the years.  The NHS is great.

Of course, there will always be "issues" because of the size of it!  All large organisations do, but as a whole it really can't be beaten!

This reminds me of a couple of tweets from a couple of weeks ago...

Clearly it's a common issue!
