Festive Gift Fair, NEC Birmingham 14th November 2016 12:09 PM

So you have to pay to go to the event, pay for cash withdrawals for cash only traders, and there is the good old NEC car park sting.

I'm afraid you're not selling it to me

Done the Brum German xmas market a few times which isn't too bad, but only go for a nose rather than to actively buy things.

Who will be next? 14th November 2016 11:15 AM

Seems to be a sudden rush of them at the moment, 2016 certainly has been a bit of a clear out. All we are going be left with at this rate are the B list and reality TV stars

The One Show 14th November 2016 10:55 AM
Don't usually watch this but did last night as was at my aunt's house and she is a Cliff Richard fan.  Putting aside what he has recently experienced, the show and his interview were cringe-worthy.   If he's got such a good relationship with the BBC, why is he suing them???

Then I sat through EastEnders........”

Didn't see it, but he was on the Chris Evans breakfast show plugging his 102 album. I'm guessing this his way of putting the recent bad and unjust publicity behind him. Reminds the world who he is, and he is pops Mr clean living.

I bet the whole suing thing will end up with an out of court settlement behind closed doors and will gently disappear.

John Lewis Christmas Advert Released! 14th November 2016 10:51 AM

Sentimental TV marketing claptrap, bahh humbug  It would be interesting if all the big stores published the ROI for these xmas campaigns. It must be viable for the annual xmas war of adverts, but I wonder how profitable? I would imagine John Lewis customers will already have their annual pilgrimage planned out to the xmas gift section, regardless of any adverts.

Or is it simply brand marketing, maybe reminding us who hasn't gone bust yet

Trump and the Devil 11th November 2016 10:40 AM

Controversial Mr Jan sir, but love it

How to upset 50% of the American population! We may get banned from entering the USA

Always try and use forum member services where possible, and very happy with The Legal Stop. Needed some new legal documents recently, painless, cheap and just the job

Chocolate bars aren't like they used to be 10th November 2016 11:37 AM

I've noticed Morrisons have been doing promotional £1 bags of crunchy, mars bar and snickers (always be a marathon to me) bite size chunks.

But you don't get many for your dosh, and prob not worth much more than a pound!

Another favourite are curly wurlys, they've got holes in so must be good for you  But these are definitely a shadow of their former selves!

And now Sir Jimmy Young at the grand age of 95.”

Now he has passed away, how long before something surfaces from the gutter. "He touched my bum 40 years ago.." If Sir Cliff isn't safe....

Thats it then! 9th November 2016 12:37 PM
He is pretty powerless, he cannot just do what he wants, what ever he wants to do he will always need the backing of congress...

Unlike Obama, he has the backing of Congress. But after watching the House of Cards, I suspect Kevin Spacey's character is a more realistic window into the behind the scenes manipulation, and how power is really handled.

With no political experience or understanding how to play the game, he could just become a puppet, manipulated and manoeuvred by people who have been playing the game for years.

What Are You Listening To Now? 9th November 2016 10:00 AM

On the way in to work listening to Chris Evans playing Nellie the Elephant.... made me smile
