I have never heard of it but then it has no effect on me. I hope you can capitalise on any extra business, what are you planning?

One of my most recent clients suggested I might like to set up such a scheme so that clients could get a discount if they refer new customers to me. Does anyone do this? I'd love to hear some real life experience.

I won't be wanting to use a referral link or anything, more of a direct referral where people will just tell me who they have referred and they'll get the discount as long as the person uses me as I'm only a small business at the moment.

Worth it do you think? I partly think it would be nice to think people will recommend a good business without any incentive, but it does encourage recommendations I guess. As my client retention is very good, new business would easily make up for any discount awarded.

What do you think oh lovely people of the forum? Any tips? Pitfalls?  or

Well i was a cat man, but the new fiancee is a dog lover.

We now go on walks with said creature, pop scooping as you go - oh yea the joys of being a dog lover picking up warm stinking poop   99.9% of my cats poop is buried by her

Then there is the fact that he chases my cat out the house when they come round, i dont see my cat for 24 hours after they have gone

Uh oh.....the do say opposites attract I guess!

Very kind of you but my web designer friend will be helping me if I do decide to go for a  self build website, which at the moment I'm thinking I won't. I'll keep my domain name in case I decide to in the future.

Interesting.....I didn't expect that advice, although I like it as the whole website thing has been a bit of a headache so far and I don't even have anything much to show for it yet! I think I'll definitely out the idea on hold for now, where it has been for 2 year anyway...

I appreciate the other advice on Wordpress etc. too but as my time is pretty limited at the minute not having to build a website is definitely appealing!
