Harry and Meghan... thoughts? 9th March 2021 7:41 PM

I rather like Harry and I think they're just using what they have to make enough money to keep in the style they're accustomed to! And the media are a disgrace for the most part, especially in this country.

I'm not bothered about the interview or any news about it personally.

The happy news today was that Piers Morgan left his job. Now that's someone I have a strong dislike of. And that's me being exceptionally polite!!!

It's International Women's Day 8th March 2021 11:01 AM

It's International Women's Day

Who has been the most influential woman in your life?

For most they say their mothers. Personally I would say my daughter. As I spend most of my time trying not to turn into my mother.

My daughter is such a character. She is 7, very probably on the autistic spectrum and bright as a button with most things.

She's so funny and individual. I sometimes do worry how she'll get on as she gets older as secondary school can be horrible if you're not a 'norm' but currently has lots of friends.

She reminds me of myself so much at times, it helps me understand her. Yet sometimes I have to remember she isn't me and needs the space to be herself.

I've empowered her to believe she can choose to pursue the career of her choice and that there's no reason being a woman should affect those choices.

She's also aware she can marry a woman, a man or no one at all when she grows up.

Already her childhood looks so different to mine, which was far more traditional as I was brought up religiously.

She's a powerhouse of emotion, energy and humour and I celebrate her today.

Who do you want to celebrate on International Women's Day?

Back to school, back to work? 8th March 2021 9:57 AM

Are you happy today that the children are back?

I think most people have a sense of relief and the children are definitely ready to be back.

However, it's also completely normal to have some anxiety or worry about it.

I know in my case the children are nervous so I will feel better when I know whether they've had a great day.

It's been a long time off, especially for younger ones. My son is only 4 and has only had a term of school so he just can't remember that he really enjoys it.

I think there are elements of guilt for me as well as we didn't do much homeschooling and also I feel like we could have made even more of the time off, which was really a sort of gift as you'd never usually get that time with your kids.

But for the most part, let's face it has been very difficult at times. I know for us that behaviour has deteriorated and they are in desperate need of social interaction with peers and a structured school day.

So enjoy you days but remember don't just fill them with work, have some long awaited me time as well!

Long live school and let's hope this time they stay open! Because remote learning is the pits!

SCAM - Telephone call, just press 1 16th February 2021 3:20 PM

I had one just yesterday with an automated voice telling me my National insurance number had been compromised...I fear for vulnerable people.

Do you value your lurkers? 16th February 2021 1:48 PM

I get a huge amount of leads from so called lurkers.

They may never comment or even like your posts on social media but they're there, watching in the shadows. They read every post and they see everything you do online.

Sounds scary doesn't it? Well it needn't be unless you're saying one thing then doing another.

These people build up an opinion on you and your work and when they're ready to buy they reach out.

It's it not even a hard sell, they're already on board with your brand and they like you, they feel like they know you and they probably trust you.

And you didn't even know they existed!

It's one of the wonders of content marketing and it's why you should stay consistent with posting online.

Because whether it's quiet or you're fully booked, being visible is so important.

So appreciate those lurkers and keep posting!

I totally agree. It usually works both ways and you get what you give quite often. Not every tenant will be perfect but the better you treat people the more likely they are to treat you well in my experience.
