This is interesting as I read somewhere that blogs are the thing to have on your website (or perhaps I was told by someone who writes blogs!) and I was panicking about having to include one on mine. Spelling and grammar are not my problem of course but time is and I am certainly not going to pay someone else to wax lyrical on my behalf!

As a proofreader I would agree with Steve and say that you don't want bad spelling etc on your main website as it undermines your credibility and professional edge, in my opinion.

Ladies please, I'm hurt

I'm sure you'll find something to cushion the blow...ha :-D

I had a miss spent youth.... and got loads of points, bans, bans on top of bans.... most for speeding, and no insurance /mot/ road tax.... nothing serious though. Now I've got a clean licence been like that for nearly 6 months now, wont be clean long though as there are just too many cameras around today......

Tut, tut Barney!!

Government IT projects? Nahhhhhhh

Maybe they could roll out a Costacoffe type card, and it has 12 stamps. When you get to 12, you send it off and wait a few years for a new one. Or combine it with your Tescos card, they seem to work all right

Never had any points, you've said it now....

I actually stick to speed limits...shocking right?

This is preposterous!  It sounds like a debacle.

What they should have been doing is introducing some form of card which shows the points in your licence surely?  Or a card specifically for travel abroad as it won't be needed by everyone. Although I suppose they are expensive to update with points. I've never had any points so I'm not that familiar with them

Ha ha very good.

My cats used to pretty much get the blame for everything, especially when it involved bringing in live mice and birds to the house, playing with them, then getting bored. Muggins here then spent the next 2 hours doing the cats job of getting rid of them!”

Oh I have had some horrible jobs as a cat slave. I have had to finish off several birds when my cat left them half dead. NOT pleasant, especially when the one when I was pregnant! EEK!

This made me chuckle. I have just started ad hoc work as a cat sitter for a friend's business so this story caught my eye!

What else can we blame cats for? I am pretty sure they are behind my unreliable WiFi

Mwhahaaaaaa what a load of cobblers! :-D

Ooooft you sound like me...uncomfortable with all these huge corporations taking over everything. I'm no conspiracy theorist but I hate that Google plays a tune then we all have to dance.. Not that Buy It Now really affects me!

Advertising and Marketing 6th June 2015 12:24 PM

I think establishing an online presence on social media is pretty vital these days. Twitter and Facebook are favourites. Twitter you can involve yourself in local 'Twitter hours' and build up a following by posting creative or interesting content. As you can also with Google plus, although I still don't get on with that really.

I have found meeting and interacting with other local businesses through networking has really helped me, but then I am targeting small/medium sized businesses with my service.

Find out who your target market is and where they are and then use that (LinkedIn is supposed to be really good for B2B but I haven't seen much benefit as yet, but maybe I'm not getting it quite right).
