Which one is the best and most affordable diesel car and vice-versa?

Really it comes down to budget and what you want from a car.

My last 3 cars have been diesels, but did have a MGTF as a 2nd car for a while which was petrol  - that was interesting to remember not to mis-fuel the cars though!

Think if you do less than 10,000 miles then petrol is the way forward as diesel increases costs in the car, fuel and servicing etc, but to be honest as i said above its down to what car you like and find in your price range.

You can only really now put petrol in a diesel as the diesel nozzle is too large to fit in a petrol car MOST of the time.

Figures show that somewhere in the UK someone missfuels their car every 3 1/2 minutes !

Thats a lot of lost fuel & a lot of business for the mechanics that have built a trade from draining the fuel system!

I dint get how so many people can put the wrong fuel in? Dont get many bikers putting the wrong fuel in lol

Must admit i dont know how they do, but it happens a lot, in fact i was following a van this morning fully wrapped in decals advertising miss-fueling.

I always look for & wear a diesel glove so its always on my mind that i'm using diesel, when i had the MG, when i took the filler cap off i always got a whiff of petrol vapor, so i never got it wrong .

But like i said its very difficult now to fill a petrol car with diesel, guessing bikes will be the same as the nozzle wouldn't fit ?

My own father confessed up this week to filling up his diesel discovery with a £100 worth of unleaded. Another £250 later to get it emptied and back to square one

Hoping it's not genetic.... Have run out a fuel a few times, but never put the wrong juice in!
