Hey All!

I just wanted to know the major differece between i3 and i5 laptops of HP, I was viewing the specs,
i3
processor: 2.0
ram: 4gb
hdd: 640Gb

i5
processor: 2.0
ram: 4gb
hdd: 640Gb

The only difference was the price i5 was almost double the price of i3, why is it so?

Personally don't know. Have you googled it? Suppose the i5 is more powerful probably something to do with how the processors compute etc. I think Intel had/have i7 too.

I guess if you aren't doing anything too taxing task why then probably not work getting the i5.

Both Laptops are HP Pavillions? I had to search specs to see what clock speed the processors use in the machines.

OK, the one pavilion running the core i3 is a 2.2GHz processor, and the core i5 is a 2.4GHz processor (unless I have the wrong HP brands).

I took these two processors, and did a comparison over at intel, and here are the results

They are almost the same, its just that from the comparison, the core i5 is better slightly, as it has more features, like the turbo frequency it runs with. Have a look and see which would be better for you

i5 has a better, 2.5 processer, and it has a x3 boost so reaching 3.1 when needed. I recently bought one and multitask a lot and it performs really well.
