“Hi guys,
Sorry to buck the trend here, but I actually agree with the plastic drink vessels suggestion.
It's not the beer glasses that are a problem - if you try to turn one of them into a weapon, they pretty much disintegrate in your hand. It's the bottles... Hold a bottle by its neck, smack it hard against the edge of a table, and you will be left holding the neck of the bottle with several knife-sharp blades of glass projecting from it...”

Maybe I'm lucky?? I've never been in a pub where someone has smashed a bottle to use it as a weapon, including 12 years drinking in various military bars.
I've witnessed plenty of drunken fisticuffs, even a full scale bar brawl broken up with Police Dogs, but never seen a bottle used as a weapon.
I have seen plenty of rugby club do's where someones smashed a glass over their own head, but you can't introduce H&S into a rugby club, otherwise they'd turn into Footballers
