Twitter problem!

Something has just happened to our twitter page. When I opened it, it said that I had just re-tweeted someone's tweet, along with 100 other people. My screen is covered with a blue tint and is blocked, and won't let me do anything.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Bizarre!?! Are you using any 3rd party apps like tweet deck for example? Sounds like a 3rd party app may have got it's knickers in a twist. Or maybe something like a feed from facebook?

Whats your twitter name?

Thank you for checking. I panicked too soon, all is well now. It seemed to resolve itself.

That's good, but seems like they've had a problem and a half...BBC News - Twitter scrambles to block worms

Thank you for your post, mrb.

That is exactly what happened to me yesterday

I got stung by this on my personal account - basically it got almost everyone who was viewing on Twitter's own web page, as the trigger for it to fire (and retweet itself to everyone on your list) was a simple mouseover rather than a click.

A little reminder to anyone who was affected, to manually check that your antivirus software is up to date and then run a full scan right away.

Apparently the first version of the exploit was fairly harmless and just did something stupid to the display of the twitter web page, but because it spread so rapidly and it was fairly simple to see how it worked, several more versions went out that had rather nastier payloads.

Thank you, Mary. I shall run a full scan, without delay.

Wasn't it a teenager in Australia who was responsible?

OK, I ran my full scan, and all is well. Thank you.
