The survey was not a straight forward one, Garry having to go through a third party agent to make arrangements to visit the property which he did happily and completed the survey which was very comprehensive indeed giving me insight to areas I didn't even know existed. Numerous photographs both inside and out of the property as well as professional comments on areas that were felt to need some attention.
I would certainly recommend GB Residential Surveys Ltd for professionalism, courtesy and pricing.

Gary has done three home surveys for my family now including my own. He was much cheaper than other quotes I received, offering great value for money. Communication is clear and easy to understand, and Gary is polite and pleasant to deal with. I will be recommending him in the future! Thanks Gary.

I almost put four stars above, in the "value for money" tickbox. Almost. But I couldn't bring myself to do so. The surveys Gary did for me were worth every pound. Gary was absolutely perfect in every way you want a surveyor to be: thorough, communicative, detailed, honest, kind, and happy to answer any and all questions. It was also a plain ol' pleasure talking to him. If you're hesitating due to cost, put his fee into the context of what you're buying. I doubt it will seem quite so expensive.

My experience of this company was brilliant from start to finish. From my initial correspondence with Martin to Gary’s excellent report at the end, all dealings with them were totally professional. Gary provided a very comprehensive and detailed report which provided us with so much useful information and it was very easy to understand, which was needed as first time buyers. He also followed up with a telephone conversation which again, was very useful. I would highly recommend Gary and the whole company.

Gary Bates was first class...he set up the survey via the estate agents carried out the survey on the date he stated, at all times Gary kept us updated on the progress of the survey
The survey was carried out quickly and we were sent an in-depth survey complete with full descriptions and accompanying photographs
The survey provided was second to none

Buying a new build comes with the reassurance of a warranty and a fair expectation that the property you buy will be build to a good standard.
That said, as a first time buyer spending an alarming amount of money on a home and very much aware of some horror stories about new build properties, there was no way my partner and I were going to trust our own instincts or the word of a developer that our property wasn't hiding any nasty surprises further for us down the line.
As a result we enlisted Gary for piece of mind and the opportunity to get a definitive list of snags together to address with the developer.
Gary did a thorough and painstaking job, documenting everything as he went, and presenting an extensive report at the end. While there were some things we had spotted, Gary identified some things, such as they way some cladding had been attached to the front of our house, that we would never have spotted.
The result was a significant reduction in the anxiety of buying a new home, and a higher quality result as we identified and were able to remedy the issues Gary found with the developer. We highly recommend his services, and wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Gary is fantastic very professional and enthusiastic. Has made me feel a lot more comfortable with our ongoing purchase of a property. The report was very informative and Gary's follow up phonecall and debrief was extremely valuable with a good analysis of the property. Solutions and improvements were also discussed which was fantastic and has also made me feel right at home. ( well not yet but hopefully soon)

Gary was very professional and punctual in a homebuyers survey that he completed for us in the agreed time scale, he took care of everything from arranging access to the property via the estate agents and then we received an incredibly detailed report within 3 days of the site survey that was easy to read and understand then Gary took the time to speak to us on the phone a few days later to clarify any questions we had that was a really useful touch for us both .

I was very impressed with the quality of service provided by Gary and Martin. My initial inquiry was answered very quickly and the communication was excellent throughout. As a first-time buyer I received lots of very good advice, from a first call before booking the survey that explained the whole process through to the debriefing call after the survey. Gary has also taken the time to answer subsequent questions about moving forward with the results.
The survey itself was extremely comprehensive, but also very clear.
Finally, I did actually have to move the survey back three times and they were extremely accommodating.
I would definitely recommend their services, especially to first-time buyers.

Gary was very thorough in his survey of the property. He went into a lot more detail than expected with useful pictures and explanations. The follow up call to go over a few things was invaluable to get a better idea of some of the issues. I highly recommend Gary's services, very professional and approachable.
