I definitely agree with you Steve, and as I said - a secret recipe A blended approach is always the key - just noting that it is being more apparent that social is affecting SERPs more and more as we are coming along.

one of the key points I got today from the AMA SEO webinar is to just make sure that the links are all nofollow - so that it does not create a negative right away and then clean up for sure when you have the time.

Just attended webinars from AMA on SEO and most of the directions there are social and engagement.

These will probably be the secret recipe to any search engine optimization campaign.

To Social - is inevitable.

Akismet is very recommended if you don't have time to clean up the mess that other people create. If you have a very engaging blog try using Facebook discussions and other of similar.
well for me it's all about "situational opportunity"

starting a business requires opportunity and commitment - you really wouldn't know when to start it not unless you feel you are ready to give it 150% and possibly know that the opportunity of success is at least 50/50.

If your situation permits you too, and the opportunity and commitment is there - you will know its time.

Just to add to what has already been said, it is but important to know thyself and what message you want to convey.. this is no different than creating your own marketing plan to promote your business offline.

Seek what you do best and build on it. SMO is all about engaging your market - reach out to them and engage.

Is Facebook a Useful tool 23rd February 2012 2:50 PM
Great points. Having a business page on Facebook is entirely different than paying for advertising on Facebook and should definitely yield different results.

Paid advertising on Facebook also has its benefits, though I think it is more effective when combined with a FB company page and promote FB posts than company landing pages.

Inducing more engagement and personality into posts is what I believe more key in FB marketing, etc.
