yup agreed, unfortunately you know it won't happen like that, it will be competing companies, different standards, with only one eventual winner, who will buy the other one out 5 years later

Only people who will lose will be us mugs that back the wrong horse...

Good to finally see all this electric car innovation, especially around it's nemesis, range!

Yes - totally agree!
...Sounds like a superb idea, if money can be found for the infrastructure.....

Any car can go to a petrol station and fill up so we need the same for this.
The key to successfully doing this will be ensuring that all cars are able to use the same concept and not just limited to the few! It's not clear from the article if that will be the case....
Web coding help 31st August 2012 9:13 PM
Well not sure why you want to do that but the .php & .html files all help a website function.

Can you provide more info on why - what are you trying to achieve etc.
....and the only time we've generated dubious quality links is when I've had a go at outsourcing some link building, which 9 times out of 10 has been an expensive waste of time ...

Tell us about the successful 1 time please.
Mobile Website? Any Advice? 31st August 2012 5:48 PM
...First off, I am a long time reader of my local forums but have never created an account to post until today. I have learnt a lot over the last year or so on here, so thanks everyone for that....

Welcome Lee - look forward to hearing more from you now that you've come to the dark side.

I can see a benefit, and I have read about them in parts on here, but am unsure whether I need it or not?

Need? Well, if your site is not any good on a mobile device people will search elsewhere. I know I do. Can you afford to lose potential customers. Are you busy enough as it is? That should help you answer the question.

...Anyone else got any mobile site opinions?

You summed it up quite well. Yes, for wordpress (& Joomla, Drupal etc.) there are plugins available. Though due the rapid increase in mobile usage these days it makes more sense to have a responsive website (i.e works well on both) from the start.

I see what you're saying about photography websites, but I'd suggest that it's still necessary to show the photos well on a mobile device.

...but personally I'd be wary of someone trying to sell you a complex and expensive solution.

Agreed.

Let us know how you get on Lee and what decision you make.
lol sometimes low tech is the best way forward!

I love whiteboards and post it notes

...and a notepad with all your passwords.

.....Then you get Bolds whiter than white which was whiter than white before & was even better than the previous version despite being shown a brilliant white shirt 4 whiter than whites ago!.....

You forgot the new & improved whiter than white which was whiter than white before & was even better than the previous version despite being shown a brilliant white shirt 5 whiter than whites ago!

..now where were we - ah yes, Walkers crisps, errrr.. no the Microsoft logo.
It seems the only way they are going to get any value to their shareholders is to do what almost all regular Facebook users don't want to happen and completely monetize the site so that e-commerce becomes a big part of the social media experience. People will soon be able to purchase goods and services through their Facebook accounts.

That is the danger, will people move away from Facebook when they are being "distracted" by adverts, stories etc that they have no interest in. As SharClar stated...

......The moment they start crossing the barrier with advertising and intrude into users personal space to much is the moment they start to face serious problems, and I predict that eventually they will have to give into shareholders demands for profit and try and ramp up the advertising element in everyone account.

The trick will be getting the balance right - especially on the mobile platform.

Worse. The "wavey" version was better. 4 squares isn't very distinctive.

...not sure it'll effect them much though.
