I believe that there is a legal requirement for BT to site telephone boxes in all residential areas in case of an emergency. Now that most public conveniences are also a thing of the past, the good old telephone box acts as an emergency urinal, thereby saving councils £1000s in maintenance costs, they also have no need to worry about cleaning the telephone boxes as they are not the councils property....

I know nothing about football other than, people kick a ball from one end of a field to the other end and then back down the other end and they do this for 90minutes. After this period of time, the spectators of the opposing teams, kick the living daylights out of each other.... Have only ever watched one football match in my life Torquay v Brentford (1974) Boredom kicked in after 10minutes and it's never gone away since then

How....... You'll need to be 40+ to remember that

Champion The Wonder Horse...... You'll need to be 45+ to remember that

Casey Jones........... You'll need to be 50+ to remember that

Wacky Raceys, Hector's House, Animal Magic, The Wombles, Play Away and Take Hart were others... Can still remember Watch With Mother!!

Although not a children's television programme, being able to watch the Apollo space programme during the late 60's early 70s was gripping stuff for both youngsters and adults. And I'm not sure anything has been on television since to actually beat that.....

I bet more people sit on that bench, than use the telephone box....

I know it's not funny, but somehow I keep associating this thread with Jasper Carrot and one of the funniest comedy routines ever... "I've got this mole you know"

On a serious note though, I don't think anyone can really knock the NHS. As a child during the 60s if anyone had cancer you would give them a wide berth, you just didn't want to be anywhere near them in case you caught it, times have changed thankfully and the stigma no longer applies and treatments providing they are caught in time, in the majority of cases tend to have high success rates. I have only had 2 dealings with the NHS, once with a gall bladder, which they said was self inflicted and got dragged out over a year ended up having to start legal action before they would operate. Second time was for a foot infection I got from standing on coral in the Maldives. Was close to having the leg amputated, you never seen so much puss in all your life, they just kept pumping me with antibiotics for around 3 weeks and saved the leg.... So I cannot complain about them really....

Ha ha, sorry 99% of most kitchens are woodchip / plastic / wood / marble / granite / stainless steel/ I cannot see what ends up in the landfill site unless it's the kitchen fitter who makes the last 1%. Let me know because I'm genuinely interested

Thanks tend to get bored after a while with forums and notice boards as they generally always tend to end up with lots of abuse and infighting and terrible moderation by the moderators. After being on here for 41/2 years I can honestly say I have ever come across any of the above on here so that's a good thing. I would like to see more posters on here as they do seem to come and go after a few weeks....

Online reviews and credibility 18th May 2015 9:08 PM

From a personal point of view, I take reviews with a pinch of salt. The old Google review set was a complete waste of time, competitors could write bad reviews about, in fact I had a falling out with an SEO company who wrote a review about me, their based in Lancashire and I'm in London yet apparently I trashed their house and was caught urinating in the fishpond and I still never paid them for their rubbish SEO work... Others could write glowing reviews of themselves, with the same misspellings and the same style, so you would know they were self written. One guy I know had about 600 Google place maps and review pages, in fact it was probably more... and people get suckered into it all, I think Google zapped the lot of them after around 5 years.

I've got a few reviews on here, but I don't pester people for them, I'll ask people to write one if they do fine, if not it goes no further. Yet I ordered a time clock online and have had several emails badgering me to do a review. But they haven't done anything extraordinary to justify a review, I paid them money and they sent a clock. So to start writing a glowing review about this seems a bit over the top to me.......

I didn't think most homes in the UK were suitable, certain housing associations have taken them out as their tenants were receiving up to £2k a year electricity bills. The only thing that makes it financially viable as with all so called green products is the RHI payments...... Which is paid for by us in our fuel bills........
