Postslooking for business partner 7th August 2015 1:15 PM Tube strike misery for London 6th August 2015 9:43 PM I have been at the unfortunate end of the automated system in Paris though....We were travelling with my family and a friend's family and we all tried to get on. My mum was slower as is disabled and the doors started to shut, trapping a friend's leg...Luckily they pulled free but the train sped off leaving half the party on the platform. It was a nightmare trying to catch up with them as it was before mobile phones. I don't know if it would be different in London but there is literally no way to stop the doors shutting there, it's a little scary! At least with a driver there's someone to intercept, if they are looking. The strike must be a nightmare, although you might realise walking is far more pleasant, unless you have a LONG way to go and then it must be awful! It's okay as long as you can work from home I guess! Storage Temple Ltd - fake storage business 6th August 2015 9:38 PM Not so much a storage temple as a storage teapot. About as useful as a chocolate one (although I think a chocolate teapot would be very yummy actually). Some things define an era of life and this is one of them... 6th August 2015 9:35 PM Me too. Although my saddest death (famous person) is still John Thaw. Loved that guy. Morse was epic. More wisdom from Seth, ignore people that shout 6th August 2015 9:28 PM Hmmm that is true, it's why if you're buying a house you pester the heck out the agents until they prioritise your house, just to get rid of you! Of course if you felt you were getting the best service to start with and people were honest about delays and realistic about deadlines then you wouldn't feel the need to do it. It does seem to be the way of the world unfortunately. Like in school the average, good students often get virtually ignored and the 'naughty' ones that play up get the majority of attention and even trips out to help them deal with behaviour etc. (I'm not commenting on if that approach is right or wrong). I try and deal with my clients in the order they book but to be fair if someone really has an urgent piece of work I will do it before others. Not to the detriment of set deadlines though. When I worked in advertising it was all deadlines but the awkward clients who liked their work done straight away did often get priority as you had to keep the money-making accounts happy. “Good for you
Bit of a pain the graphic/text rules, always catches me out. You can have a graphic with some text, but the text can't be the majority of the image. So have a headline with the rest as the image. Takes a bit of trial and error. Remember to target your audience. That's the one really good thing with facebook, you can really tailor your audience. eg, for proofreading, you may want to target web designers, who might subbie you, so you could add web design or content creation as an interest, then limit the age to maybe 23 - 55. Any younger, they are unlikely to run a business so it will be a hobby, any older and they aren't probably interested. Just a high level example. It's applying this kind of logic that can save a fortune in untargetted clicks. Takes some time to research your ideal target audience, but once you have that data, it's priceless and you will see your cost per conversion decrease.” I have a question for you... I used cute dogs and children to appeal to the mums, what would appeal to geeky web designer types? Venturing into the world of Facebook advertising. 5th August 2015 1:41 PM It's really quite in depth with the targeting which is very useful. Still only one actual 'sale' so far though... “thanks , in a way he was ready to go as he had leukaemia and wasn't at all happy, he was a very private person and was suffering a lot with all sorts of ailments ”
That's sad. My aunt was much the same last year, very depressed with her cancer and in a lot of pain so at least she was released from all that. |
