Six ways to have a better day! 13th December 2020 10:42 AM

Why are some days so much better than others?

When you think about good days it isn’t always that only good things happened, sometimes you can be exhausted and on paper it should be a terrible day but somehow you are productive, and it works out well.

The difference is usually your mindset! Obviously, some things will always make a day bad but often annoyances and less than helpful incidents can be handled if you approach them in the right way.

So, what are the elements of your day that you CAN control to give you the best chance at a good start?

Here are some ideas:

  • Wake up in good time – if you need a few mins to come round before you actually get out of bed then leave enough time to do that, don’t rush yourself.
  • Drink water upon waking, it can really help.
  • Play some music as you’re waking up to motivate you or make you smile. It can become more upbeat as you move about.
  • Prep the night before, if you need to make lunches and get school clothes ready, do it!
  • Have a good breakfast of something you like and that will give you right kind of energy.
  • Do some exercises or stretches, it doesn’t have to be much, or it can be a whole yoga routine, but moving your body will help set you up for the day.

You can’t control everything that happens in your day, but you can set the scene and give yourself the best possible chance at a good one.

Do you do any of these things already?

Time for a Christmas break? 13th December 2020 10:35 AM

This year has been pretty relentless in one way or another, but are you good at saying no and having a break?

I have plenty of work booked up this week and really it is pretty close to being enough before Christmas, but my ambitious and driven side finds it hard to turn things down!

I'm not the same as at the start of my business, I certainly don't take on any and everything anymore! But I do sometimes push myself to the edge.

Firstly, I like each month to be better than the last, but secondly, I really want to help people, so saying no isn't doing that.

But, there's always referrals to others AND you need to put yourself first sometimes, as you're no use to anyone if you burn out.

Are you pushing yourself a lot at this time of year? With Christmas tasks on the list as well, it's easy to do! But time off is SO important.

As someone who owns my own business it is easier to be flexible with time off but also a lot harder to truly turn off from work and have downtime.

Being available and online all the time isn’t healthy and long term won’t do you or your business any good.

Time away from work and time away from social media is sensible for everyone, and sets a good example of a balanced lifestyle to children as well.

Remember to set a date to switch off and stick to it. And remember whatever you're asked, you can say no!

What date are you downing tools?

Great question Rebecca

Yes, with my software tool to systematically analyse their business and show the results. There is a follow up report about the strategies for their growth, and a roadmap for step by step implementation. How cool is that!!

Sounds great

I think understanding your target audience is key but also understanding their pain points and probelms, then you can show them how you will make it better.

Repelling those who aren't your ideal client scares people but really it is about being true to your brand and in the case of one man bands being yourself.

For example if you are very informal in marketing and communication and your ideal client responds well to that then it is perfect as you will put off those who want formal, who would have been a bad fit anyway. And vice versa.

I haven't any experience of it. But I would do your due diligence and speak to other users, read reviews online, good and bad, before investing money.

I'm a proofreader and I can see some errors in your post, which would make me wary of the quality of your translation services. As surely legal documents need to be 100% accurate.

It's an interesting concept, can everyone really be helped in just 45 mins?

I think the last one is best and simplest.

Great, I can't wait to critique that one. Hehe.

How do you protect yourself? 23rd November 2020 6:42 AM
Honestly, I don't have anything to do now outside of my home; my life is so awesome... I can work in my house, that's my home office, and I must wear an outside mask, all right, plenty for myself and my hunger.”

That sounds very depressing to me! I miss people.
