PostsThat's It... 19th April 2016 2:35 PM What do you think of the Government EU leaflet? 19th April 2016 2:33 PM Be nice to see the opposing view point as it's unfair to use tax payers money to only put up one side of the argument. I thought the government leaflet was clear and well presented. Some of the brexit arguments have (for me) come over as disjointed or confusing. Compare the stay campaign website versus the leave campaign, who makes the best visual argument? (the shallow vote Stay - http://www.strongerin.co.uk/ A Barrel of Laughs 19th April 2016 2:06 PM
“The gradual move to electrification of vehicles will only lessen the demand for oil and with new claims from the Horse Hill development ”
Love the headline on the Evening Standard link "Gushing Gatwick ‘can supply 25% of UK’s oil" and then "the Gatwick Gusher" You let who name the ship??? 19th April 2016 1:59 PM I love the Mountain Dew story in Marks article. They held a public contest to name a new drink flavour which was taken off the air by execs, worried by the leading entry "Hitler Did Nothing Wrong". The power of social media when it goes bad! Cadbury uses a similar slogan to Coke 6th April 2016 12:04 PM It's interesting to hear how things can go wrong, even with global brands who have access to resources and budgets the rest of us can only dream of. According to Marketing Week, Cadbury have inadvertently released a similar slogan to the recently launched Coca-Cola campaign. It is “unfortunate” that Dairy Milk’s new slogan ‘Taste like this feels’ is similar to Coca-Cola’s ‘Taste the feeling’, according to Cadbury’s global brand equity director Nikhil Rao, but he insists that Cadbury’s focus on ‘consumption experiences’ gives it a point of difference. Full story here: www.marketingweek.com/2016/04/05/coca-cola-slogan-likeness-is-unfortunate-says-cadbury/ Oh dear Gender Equality 5th April 2016 3:41 PM Spinning it slightly, did you see the article on the Guardian about low take up of fathers taking paternity leave? The research found that concerns over career progression were a factor for many, with half of men saying they thought taking leave was perceived negatively at work and 55% of mothers questioned said they did not want to share their leave. Only 40% of individuals said shared parental leave was encouraged by their employer, although almost half of businesses said they offered enhanced pay in line with what they offered employees taking maternity leave. www.theguardian.com/money/2016/apr/05/shared-parental-leave-slow-take-up-fathers-paternity So a lot of mums don't actually want to share their maternity leave, while men are worried about career progression damage. It just shows what a complicated subject this is, even when efforts are made at resolving equality issues. 4. Develop Brand Ambassadors Advertising is expensive, and can’t guarantee consistent or impressive results. You might pay a couple hundred pounds to run a TV, radio, or print ad in your area, only to find that you drum up very little business. A smarter idea is to get your clients to become 'brand ambassadors'. Offer your current clients and customers incentives for talking you up, and for referring new business to you. Word-of-mouth is still a persuasive tool in our digital age, and one that people tend to take for granted. Get satisfied customers to tweet or share about you for discounted services, or offer current customers free services for every new client they refer to you (utilisation of social media is a low-cost method of advertising).” I'm a huge advocate of this. This can stem from good service and a good product and a great customer experience. You now have a brand ambassador advertising for you word of mouth, tweeting etc. |
