As a probation officer I can confirm that offenders do get confused about customer service.

An offender once told me how crap I was, adding he was going to write to trading standards and the probation ombudsman and have me sacked!”

I suppose this is a similar issue teachers face on a daily basis, with the power in the hands of the pupils and teachers having to prove themselves innocent. Maybe a good analogy for customer service, could you argue I wonder that too much power is in the hands of the consumer?

With the power of social media and reviews, you do wonder what some peoples expectations are. I love reading negative reviews on trip adviser. "They had horrible teabags" or "I didn't like the curtains". Some of the trivia people post in the name of a damming review is hilarious.

I'm thinking vans should be banned from suburbia

We have one in our street who starts work early hours, and has to have the van sitting there on tick over for about 10 minutes, which feels like an eternity. Just get in and clear off, quietly!

Don't they say you are only ever 6 feet from a rat in London? Or is that an urban myth?

From a marketing point of view, this is pretty interesting as a new medium enters the mix and fights for your marketing budget. So possible big wins for early adopters, but this is going to be for deep pockets. From a personal point of view, I find it strange grown adults as well as kids like to run around after imaginary things, so I think I'm in the too old camp.

Disruption and guilt which does tend to fall on the shoulders or working women, balanced with the opportunity of spending quality time with the kids.

Spelling out why grammar matters 1st August 2016 10:39 AM
but the casual disregard for grammar that I see in the UK is extremely odd. Most CVs I've received in my time, from graduates, had at least one mistake in them.

I think the quality of grammar has declined. I know a lot of people attribute this to the text generation, which there may be some truth. But maybe some of the emphasis or focus on language and grammar has been lost within the education curriculum.

As someone who has also had to sift through many graduate CV's, it worries me that so many graduates are unable to create such a basic and important document, and sell themselves.

I remember driving round South Wales a couple of years ago on a Sunday, and couldn't find anywhere to eat. Everywhere was shut  Is a beautiful country though.

Higgers- for their equipment, sleep, entourage, etc.

As a lady plane spotter, great photo!”

I didn't know many of the politicians names before, and now know even fewer. What I do know is when things get a bit sticky, everyone resigns. Maybe MasterChef could manage the leadership contests, or even have a bake off? If the new leader can make a mean lemon drizzle cake, then I'm interested

It is a shame when someone asks for help, gets some, then doesn't respond  ho hum never mind
