PostsIs blog commenting really important for SEO?? 13th March 2013 11:48 AM Why do you think that its not important? I have been trailing around looking at your recent posts, anymore of these, and I will need to start writing out infraction tickets ![]() ![]() What Are You Listening To Now? 13th March 2013 7:58 AM Listening to some relaxing dance music. (ah well, to me anyway ![]() Do you run a business from home? 13th March 2013 7:16 AM I would say that its about personal taste and preference and the type of business you are in? I mean, I work as a VA, but I am behind the scenes. Communication with my bosses are an email away, and I actually have an office regardless. Even if I was not behind the scenes, I still don't think that working from home is an issue. Sure, you need an office to build a company image, but that can also be worked on regardless of where you are. I get that most of the time, being at home means relaxing and being at work means working. But I am almost constantly in work mode lol. Truth be told, I feel its a matter of adjustment. When I started out in the work force I actually went to a brick and mortar business. (Nursing, retail, management etc.). I had my girls and in the beginning found it easy to bounce between work and home, but realized that most times, my girls preferred me being at home (over weekends). I also felt that a lot of the time, they didn't really do well in their daycare centers. yet, at home, I could easily teach them to do things. I have two extremely gifted daughters that tend to need a certain amount of attention for them to do well in..... otherwise. I guess that's just me being a mom. In any case, I started working for a recruiter in the UK, and in the beginning it was a huge adjustment. Being online during the day at home, and not having to make arrangements for my girls etc. It was hard to get myself focused enough to do what I needed to do. In the end though, I started to adjust and its second nature to me. I would probably go through the same adjustment if I had to work in an office at work again. Having Yahoo bring their workers back to their offices could also be an extremely clever way to cull their workforce. Those that cannot make it to an office would then be let go and it would cut costs for them without any unnecessary legal complications. I will always remain "pro work at home", but it would be nice to be able to be in the office to interact with my bosses and live up to my title as trainee tea lady some days lol. Have been meaning to cut down in any case ![]() “cut out the daily mars bars and sweets, plus no alcohol on a school night.” I don't do chocolate, I prefer french nougat, don't really drink a lot of wine either, just when I am making steak for supper, so no problem there either. Don't do takeaways that much either, probably somewhere around 3 or 4 times a year, lol. We have an accord ![]() Happy Birthday Douglas Adams - HHGTTG writer turns 61 11th March 2013 1:58 PM “Agreed. They are doing well as they are and everyone loves them. I still don't understand that want for more. Its damaging their brand name gradually.” True, but if you think about it, what business owner would solely focus on one thing/product/service? When there are so many other ways they can improve their business and their profits? I have been thinking about this and in terms of business growth, the decision could well be viable, but they need to focus on their projects that are lacking and that are less popular with their clients and prospective clients perhaps? It would make them a more well rounded company in the end methinks. Customers are important too.. 8th March 2013 6:22 AM “I forgot about this thread. It seems Clive aka Garde is starring here as well ![]() I did, and I am happy with what I got. Went with Company A, and got my pencils and my erasers. Went to another store on the way home, I got the elusive 9B, spray that fixes the graphite to the paper and an A3 sketchpad. I have three sketches done and am going frame hunting this weekend. (touch wood it goes well lol). Company B are just a little too self assured I think. The sales rep told me that there is no such thing as a 9B, or anything past a 6B. I just get the feeling that, if either they hired proper sales execs with an thorough knowledge about stationary, or just trained them better and not just focus on making a sell, things would go a lot better for them. I worked in a sales environment, and had to order stock etc. The attitude I had with my customers and the sales execs I ordered from was on a completely different level than company B. I guess there are fine lines between what a customer can and cannot get away with, but that doesn't mean a rep has to resemble a bowl of sauerkraut. |
