I found a cool new way to use my desktop. Because I'm an artist, I have a graphic tablet. The nifty thing is that I have recently installed it onto my desktop that runs Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit). With the addition of a tool call flicks, I can control my entire PC simply by flicking my pen mouse either up or down. and go backwards and forwards in windows and browser pages flicking my pen from left to right.

Pressing down and holding my pen mouse gives me my left click options.
I also get an editor that allows me to write what I want typed. (need to work on my handwriting though - recognition isn't all that great atm).

I had a look at Microsoft, and this is what I could find out about Flicks:

There are two types of flicks: navigational (which include drag up, drag down, move back, and move forward) and editing (which include copy, paste, undo, and delete). For example, you can drag up or down on a page, move back or forward in a browser window, or paste an item into a document
I found an interesting post from the guardian about YouTube, and that apparently it now gets a billion unique visitors a month.

YouTube has a billion unique users visiting the video-sharing website every month, equivalent to one out of every two people on the internet

To business. Everyone talks about white and and black hat, so I found a post on the moz that tackles the issue. I realize its a bit of a dangerous topic, but maybe some good info can come from the information in the mentioned blog post.

While we generally think of ourselves as “white hat” here at SEOmoz, I’m going to put ethics aside temporarily for this post. I will assume that, when we say “black hat”, we’re not talking about outright illegal behavior (like hacking into someone’s site). We’re talking about willfully violating Google’s rules to improve your ranking. While I do believe there are ethical implications to cheating the system and harming search quality, this post is intended to be an honest look at the real choices you face when choosing an SEO path.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hmmmm, the thread has been inactive for a year already. Perhaps its best to lay it to rest for now. I'm sure the OP has found the information they're looking for by now.
Google+ just changed! 21st March 2013 6:05 AM
Google plus is a good way to go viral

True, but have you noticed the new layout? What do you think about it? Do you like it/hate it or feel indifferent? I may be an ostrich (lol) but its still interesting reading about changes like these.
Yes, spamming is not the best way to promote websites with the help of SEO. If you want to promote websites then you have to work on white hat seo technique in which content should not be duplicated and back links may be generated on high PR websites. If you use duplicate content then Google panda update will affect your site and your website may be penalized also. so always try to use white hat seo for website promotion.

Forgiveness, but this has nothing to do with white hat or black hat, duplicate content or the all too infamous Panda updates. Its about developing a site using structured data, or not, what it does, how it evolved and information about each area like microdata etc. Have a read through the post linked in the thread, its a really enlightening read.

It clearly shows that there is a lot more to SEO than simply whacking a site together, loading it with keywords, and then venturing out on the web to wreak havoc building backlinks.

To quote from tutsplus:

The term Structured data refers to information formatted in a universally understandable way. Search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo use structured data (implemented within web pages) to refine search results, filter with greater accuracy and enhance the way results are displayed. This all makes it easier for users to find the information they

That is really hectic, wow.

I used to in the beginning, a lot actually. When i started working for the recruiter, people would load tons of jobs onto the site and if they weren't sorted properly and edited etc. it could cause a backlog like you have no idea. So I pulled all nighters to get them sorted out. Works great to get stuff done, but knackers you before you know it. For days afterwards, you can still feel the effects of doing that. 'Tis like a ripple effect, until you have a weekend, and then you do nothing but sleep lol.
Will SEO end In Future?? 14th March 2013 6:28 AM
It's never end because SEO is still here...Every website wants promotion to get traffic on a website from Search Engine....SEO still here...

hmmmm, No, you're right, it won't end. But I think i have mentioned before it will change. Radically at some point, I'd imagine. If you think about it, a pot can only handle so much, and with the influx of netherworld SEO's (a.k.a spammers), things are going to boil over at some point.

Think about this though, spamming makes it so easy for anyone to just get online, create loads and loads of sites, each pointing back to another one in an intricately woven pattern, just so one site gets all the "link juice". besides that, there's software that helps you spam forums without even logging into it yourself, apps that let you mass tweet, update on facebook in seconds, no interaction needed........ if those things were taken away, think about the chaos it would cause?

(some might even have to go back and restudy their SEO manuals )
Do you run a business from home? 14th March 2013 5:57 AM
The biggest problem I have found with working from home is that sixteen hour days become the norm!

I haven't gone through that yet (touch wood). I just have cut offs during the day, and when my girls are home from school, that is when I stop entirely. Then I help them with homework, deal with any errant housework and then we all relax together. Even though some days its right in front of the PC again.

I guess a person just needs to put together a timetable and be honest with themselves. Knowing they will be able to do something, and be able to walk away from the PC when the time comes
