Do you like being asked to leave a tip? 18th November 2016 1:08 PM

If they actually have the nerve to ask for a tip, my response is 'when I get some service worthy of a tip i'll leave one'

I have on one occasion even asked for the 'service charge' to be removed from a bill as there was no service unless you think having a ladle of soup in my lap service.

However if the food and service has been good I generally leave a cash tip so that the waiter/waitress actually gets the money, if they want to share it after then it's their decision. However if it is added to the bill it usually means the company is going to use it to pay the staff their normal salary and it will not be a bonus. I object to this, if the restaurant wants to employ people they should pay them and keep their hands out of the gratuity 'Trunk'

Brexit rumblings - what do you think? 19th October 2016 4:15 PM

I'm constantly amazed by the lurid headlines about the weakness of the pound, how it supposedly at its lowest ever..... the pound against the dollar (sometimes called spot cable) is currently trading at 1.2291. In my memory it was trading at 1.0030 dollars in the mid eighties. to my certain knowledge 1.2291dollars is higher than just over one! (pardon the sarcasm)

I think everybody will remember when it was higher in between times. IT GOES UP as well as down! It will recover I have no doubt it is just the herd mentality of traders.

Oh Ray - ...

I am regularly asked how long our lifetime listings are for

the same goes for lifetime guarantees? I always want to ask 'who's lifetime, mine or the product?' if the latter it just goes to prove that the guarantee is worthless. If the former and the customer was say 20 yrs old they might live for another ninety years, will the company still be around to honour said guarantee?

Thanks, I have an android phone so I eventually noticed the 'i' bit but have just been on to o2 and they confirmed it was a scam and also that I had not been charged!!!!! which is good.

short code number now blocked from sending me text messages!

so (hopefully) I wont be hearing from them again.

I have received three texts (unsolicited) from this number in the last couple of months giving me

'Your iCloud keychain verification code is:...... ' followed by three different code numbers.

There is no identifiying details at all included. I've now blocked the number.

I am not on any 'cloud' service

Brexit rumblings - what do you think? 4th October 2016 9:55 AM

I see Brexit, as a huge opportunity!

Instead of having free access to the other 470m people in the EU and very restricted access to the rest of the world (6,500m people). We will have unfettered access to the majority of the planet and if the EU want, free access to their 470m. Should the EU decline our offer then it would just make it harder for them to sell to us!

But that's just my opinion.

Hi everybody,

I  have a similar thing with my web address, although not so derogatory. My business is Andrews Wills & Estate Planning, my website andrewswills.co.uk

I get a lot of people calling me Andrew, my name is actually Dan Andrews hence the business name, but the web address can read Andrew swills instead of Andrews wills. I'm lucky it could have been a lot worse!

Everybody should be careful of the 'other' un-noticed meanings of web addresses!

Keep on plugging away.
