Wahey, seriously? You going for it

This is going to turn into a reformed smokers forum at this rate lol. Come to MLF and get cured

Next week it's chocolate

well did it ever..... turn in to a reformed smokers forum that is?

I was prompted to look at this post again today. Don't know why but I went right back to the start and read some of the 260 or so messages, how grumpy was I..? However, the genuine support and advice freely given by forum members has left me speechless. When I look back at the journey and in my trade we call this reflective practice I can actually see the milestones.. all captured electronically for all to see.

What a great and wonderful forum this truly is...

Great people, fantastic site, now lets have a go at all of those chocolate lovers (but please leave the beer alone).

no joke for the non-smokers!

i also remember the time when the non smoker was the outcast, everyone smoked at work, at thier desk and if anyone complained they were branded as the whinging wierdo who was always moaning about something. How times have changed..

well done to those who have stopped, keep trying for those yet to achieve the non smoker status, you can do it... We all have and it is worth the effort.

Never been a better time to stop. Shunned by everyone, made to stand in cold, damp bus shelter type buildings is not my idea of a fun night out.

Changing your habit and general routine was for me, the hardest thing to do given I am such a creature of habit. I would always smoke exactly 4 cigarettes on the way to work. The same on the journey home!

Now 3 years plus, as an ex smoker, I now challenge all forum users to quit....

So has the PM dropped a clanger? 3rd April 2015 8:21 AM

I think they should replace the whole government with machines, they seem to think this method will be ok to manage offenders so why not the country?

The problem here is that the public have a right to attend trials, most members of the public don't take advantage of this wonderful day time viewing opportunity (but some do). However, the press have a reporter in court every day, more so in crown courts. Big cases often attract TV cameras outside of the court because everyone loves a juicy scandal...!

The media simply report what they see and hear, I accept they often put a bias on what they report because that sells more papers. However the public then devolp their own opinions, many years ago they were called lynch mobs.

so why don't we put people on trial behind closed doors? Well, power corrupts, the police courts and government would have a great opportunity to arrest people in the dead of night and to administer justice with impunity, without regard to due process and the rights of the individual. Ok if your not the one being dragged away. Sounds a bit like the emergence of Nazi Germany in the 1930's

if you live your life in the public eye then you can expect to be put on trial in a very public way. If you are Mr joe average, shoplifting in tesco's nobody will care.

I have recently fallen out with EKM response, their templates are clumsy and difficult to use and I don't think the returns are covering the costs incurred.

So, I want to spend between £35 & £100 per month on a simple news letter/discounted offers/promotions for my customers by email once per week. My website currently has 4000 customers.

Any suggestions?

I like many others have bought a Card, a heart shaped chocolate box and other nice surprises for my wife to say I love you. I know I dont say it often enough and perhaps on this special day I do need a prompt....

However, is my motive driven by the shame (or indeed fear) of not doing so? Am I expecting a nice meal and a relaxing evening sharing an extra bottle of wine etc.

Or have I just been mugged by the greetings card manufacturers who market this "special day" to sell more stock?

Has commercialism gone too far and are we as a nation being bullied and coerced in to buying things we simply do not need? Our children are beginning to buy into this material ideology without experiencing true childhood and growth (climbing trees and running around "outside" etc)

take a look at this poor kid;

"There is a certain young lady who needs to stop but keeps falling off the wagon! Come on dreamraven, time to give it a go again, we need an update....

i do keep checking for the update and I know she can do it....

Absolute shameless plug for my good friend Andy Robinson, we played rugby together for many years. He didn't fight or get drunk that often and he always talked his way out of trouble. Now I know why...

i no longer live in Bradford so can't vote for him, but I can share his ambition. He really is a nice bloke...

Elect Andy Robinson for MP, Bradford South.

Steve, I appologise in advance for using the forum for self interest and I will not be offended if this link is removed.

I don't stand for the greens or any other party for that matter, I do however stand by my friends.

good luck Andy...

On the 26 February 2015, I will have achieved 3 years as a non smoker.

Looking back at some of the posts I noticed Steve will now be approaching 9 years

dreamraven stopped for a while then lapsed. I do hope she tried again

I hope this thread has helped others too.....
