Found a superb article talking about the modern craze for trying to get thousands of friends and followers on Social Networking sites. Better to have a few quality followers who actively support you, rather than 100's that ignore you.
In other words SMM (Social Media Marketing) is following the same pattern as SEO link building. Think quality not quantity!
Love this quote: "If I really have 400 friends on Facebook, where are they on moving day?"
Regardless if your religious or not, it's a great title for an article and food for thought.
Jesus Had 12 Followers, How Many Do You Need? | Site-Reference
Wow that is a punchy title - and really gets you thinking.... where were you all last year when i moved ![]() Think im in need of another coffee Clive
“Jesus Had 12 Followers, How Many Do You Need?” 2 more to make it 12. ![]() Thanks, fourth-monkey
Got into that game too, reached FB limit in 2007 (or 2006). Had to remove 4k plus when I finally grasped the idea of quality over quantity on social media. These days, I'm only using my profile to keep in contact with real life friends, family, co-workers, old classmates, ex-girlfriends. About 250 or so people all told. Easier to handle, more meaningful streams.
Definitely! Goes to show that if you write something compelling and high impact enough, it'll get reposted. |
