Well I've just landed on this here new Google+ Social Networking site, or is it Google Plus?

Although technically it's still in a limited field trial, it seems half the Earths population have been invited.

Still finding my way around, looks like Virtually Mary has her feet well under the table, so lets nominate her as our guru!

Well I assume you can view profiles from URL's like Facebook, no doubt there will nice friendly ones over time.

So I'll start things off:

Feel free to add your profiles below.

Don't have G+ yet. However, I just don't know why they do this every time, where they have restrict number of users to create a hype then it turns into a disappointment like wave. I have heard a few people complain that there are not many people on there that they know.

Thanks Steve.

I now have Google+

There you go, have invited you. Know what you mean, it is an age old marketing trick, but after the recent google flops, I suspect there is a lot more riding on this and it will be marketed and pushed to an inch of its life.

Trouble is, I'm comfortable with facebook, got my non business account for personal stuff, and a business one.

So assume you would follow the same theory for plus, but why re-invent the wheel? Unless of course all my contacts leave FB.

Can see a definite need for business, as we all want big G to smile on us in the SERPs, with all those +1's everywhere, and can see this as much better as a business marketing tool than FB, but guess only time will tell...

Plus there's only so many hours in the day!

...I have to be honest, I have never really like any of the social networks much and I have often used them for selfish reasons (business). Because I didn't get into social networks early, I hardly have anyone to interact with on FB and the like. I have a business page and personal page, but it hardly gets used.

However, I can see a clear benefit of a Google Social Network. I am logged into my Google Account most of the day, and I can see as it's all linked it will be effortless. I already see a clear plus for someone like me ..."the circles" I really like the idea of that. I can see how I could quite easily get to like it more than FB so long as there was enough people on there.

I know a lot of chatter has happened about Google Plus friendly name for your page, and some site has created a shortener. However, I have found that if you have gmail address that has the same name as your company then it's easy to have a friendly name, so for example, anyone landing on this link will go to our Google Plus profile: https://profiles.google.com/scootek

Aha, top man, nice one!

In my case I'll keep my standard forum id

So lets see your +1 ID's below, or if you want an invite, PM your email address.

I have also read somewhere that there is more of an SEO benefit doing it this way rather than the way created by that Turkish company which creates a shortcut like tinyurl.

Only initial concerns is the privacy. It's a bit fidgety for me. There are some circles I do not want to be public. At the moment I find it's not playing ball, so I turned everything private until I know for sure it works as it should.
