Hi

I have read that if you employ close family members then you are exempt from having to get employers liability insurance.

Can anyone point me to a formal statement to this effect rather than reading it as info on a general website?

And how is 'close' defined? Would that be mother, father, brother, sister, son or daughter? Or can it extend to the second level, such as aunt, uncle, neice, nephew or cousin?

I would appreciate any factual references I can refer to.

Thanks

Clives normally our insurance man, with 20 years insurance industry background before he came to us, but he's gone home, typical

He set our liability up with allianz.co.uk and rates them highly.
