Just got back from a long weekend in Moscow. Strange place, anyone else feel the same way or is it just me ?

Never been. Had a pretty damn spectacular weekend right here in Warwickshire.

What were you doing in Moscow, then?

Guests of my husbands work so very nice but came away thinking I'd been on the set of the prisoner. Surreal

Hi Beverley

I've never been to Moscow either but I have a friend whose son has been living and working there for several years now and absolutely loves it. He has become fluent in russian and is pretty settled there.

Another set of friends went there when it was still the USSR. That was weird apparently. They were escorted everywhere and had to stay with the organised tour at all times. Not my idea of a short city break!

I guess you won't be returning there?

Hi Cristina,

If I wasn't on an organised tour I think it would have been very difficult. Rules are rules and woe betide anyone should step a foot out of place. Some fabulous places like the Kremlin but outside the main city it is so poor. You'd want to be extremely rich to live there. The people just don't smile, very strange place.
