Can we use this law 13th March 2013 8:02 AM
One poor solicitor doesn't mean the rest of them in the UK are bad! And they are not there to give 100% guarantees of winning or losing anyway. They don't have a crystal ball so it's unfair to say that he said you wouldn't win and that makes him (and all other solicitors) a lost cause.

They can only advise your chances and to be fair, he could have done what many do and lead you to believe there is a chance, this racks up costs, and you could have lost. What do you say, "well you said I should have won"?

No solicitor knows the outcome unless it's very black and white or that they were not in full possession of the facts.....which unless you paid him to go through all those facts, and not just an overview, he can't possibly have made a full decision.

I know a couple of solicitors really well including one that deals with disputes like yours and wins a lot. But that's not to say he guarantees to win. No solicitor can ever do that.

Your thread title says 'can we use this law' - what law are you referring to?

Also when you say he has "re-started up again", what do you mean exactly? Started chasing you for the outstanding rent? Or started back in business as a Landlord? Or something else?
There was also the same noise about the Olympics logo but everyone got over it.

Anywa, how do we know this was not a set up to make a noise on purpose? Let anonymous person declare it as awful and lets bring our design company to everyone's attention in the world. Yay!

Nike could bring out a new logo tomorrow and thousands will find a way to be negative about it.
I can lose the chocs, takeaways and alcohol.....but how do you manage coffee without sugar??
Do you run a business from home? 12th March 2013 1:03 PM
I could work from home if I wanted to, and just pop into the office for appointments, see to mail, etc.....

However i'd be far less productive and not really in "work mode" at home, in the same way I am at the office.

I would also say that having an office rather than being known to work from home, does bring more business....people take you and your business more seriously, especially at a corporate level.

I have never heard of this in the UK however, I am unsure on how you stand when a Landlord refuses to repair and maintain your business premises. Why don't you go to the solicitor who dealt with your lease and ask them? They deal with this sort of stuff all the time.
Dragons Den reshuffle 11th March 2013 1:01 PM
I've loved having Theo on the panel, such a shame he is leaving. I found Hilary a bit boring at times.... not as feisty as I hoped she would be. Sometimes she would step up and say it as it was, other times she stayed in the background. Her clothes and makeup were more fiery than she was!
Take a break has taken a bit of a break since it stopped accumulating post count .... a week ago....
Roxy posted a valid question and we, as experienced moderators and multiple forum users, told her why people get kicked off a forum.

You asked a valid question and so did I.

If I ask on a forum "how would you feel and what would you do if you got refused car insurance" - logic tells us humans that this has likely happened to the OP or someone they know. Why else would anyone ask a specific question, unless they just wanted to post random questions.

But since the OP had already replied with "point taken", nor elaborate to say otherwise, we can reasonably assume it has happened to the OP, or maybe just had a warning.
Have you recently been ejected from your favorite forum?

why else would anyone ask such a question?....unless they're simply posting random silly questions for the fun of it....a few of those and they would get kicked off here too
Customers are important too.. 23rd February 2013 1:39 PM
Customer service should be a no-brainer but many businesses simply don't bother.
