I agree but the beauty is that its free and there are lots of places to submit.

100 article sent to 100 different sites = 10,000 links
1,000 articles sent to 1,000 sites = 1,000,000 links

that sort of makes up for the ads and low value.

But this is why Google has acted to clean the area up.

Now you need good original articles to get the benefit.

I was shocked to read this someone getting arrested and facing extradition for having links to bad websites on their own - no copyright breaching material himself!

Big brands seem immune to the panda - maybe its because they have equally big lawyers and wallets?

Like the other posts I am concerned that it will become riddled with bugs just like all the other MS applications.

That said it has still got the potential to really threaten the telecoms companies - more and more mobile users choose skype turning expensive calls into free ones.

Plus I guess its another channel for advertising etc

Bing gets my vote its search results are much better than the other Search Engines - problem is it lags a long way behind Google in market share - but I think it will grow as its better quality.

There is an annual book published with all the senior councillors in each authority have you thought about emailing each of these with some sort of individual approach?

Well I spent a lot of time in 2010 looking at this from a web page point of view, and the layout of your page - colours all have a surprising affect I reduced the width of one of my websites and its sales went up 22%!

Little things like this can improve the sales conversion rate so its worth really experimenting. I was amazed that a whole industry exists to do this sort of things - in the US of course.

But can you imagine how many visitors came to his site or googled him!

Apparently his server was totally swamped with traffic and offline as a result. Its one way to market yourself!

Take some time to read the posts at webmasterworld these guys are amongst the most savy in the industry - look out for some of the top posters as they are actually Google engineers passing themselves off as members.
